Molly Lewis is a national treasure

In the world of entertainment, there are things that make me laugh, there are things that make me cry, and there are the rare things that work on so many different levels, or are so surprising, they simply drop my jaw to the floor and blow my mind.

This cover of Poker Face by Molly Lewis is one of those things.

Molly Lewis, you are a national treasure. It is an honor to occasionally share the stage with you.

  1. When she sings behind the mic everything’s covered except for the wig and glasses, which are also a cover for the rest of Molly – suddenly she might as well be Michael Caine in “Dressed to Kill.” Frankly, this reveals alot more about the song’s meaning than Gaga’s trick lighting and electronic glasses. Very effective. And yes, the musical arrangement is great.

  2. *nod* So do I. Especially since my oldest will be that age before I know it.
I am still trying to figure out when I stopped being a teenager because I still feel like one in many ways.

  3. Does acting like a teenager count? If so, I’m good to go ;-)
Although whoever said we’re “only as old as we feel” never pulled their back picking toys up off the living room floor, lol.

  4. I am going to say yes acting like a teenager counts. I think that will make a lot of us feel better lol
Despite our bodies reminding us differently.

  5. Oh, Molly. I didn’t think it was possible to love you more, but here you are with a KICKASS song AND AN MST3K T-SHIRT. I can’t decide if she’s the daughter I’d love to have or the best friend I wish I’d had in high school. (Actually, I already have a daughter that reminds me of Molly…maybe that’s why I like her so much!)
Thanks, Wil, I totally missed this at Halloween. I already bought her Song Fu finale song about Lincoln, and I think I’ll just have to cave and buy the whole CD now.
