Evil Wil Wheaton returns to The Big Bang Theory

Well, it's official. Evil Wil Wheaton is going back to The Big Bang Theory!

From TV Guide Magazine:

Geeks everywhere will be happy hear that Star Trek star Wil Wheaton will be returning to hang out with TV’s hippest nerds on The Big Bang Theory.

“We were very excited when Wil Wheaton appeared as Sheldon’s nemesis, and right now we’re looking to see if he can come back to give Sheldon an opportunity to settle the score,” Executive Producer and Co Creator Bill Prady announced to TV Guide Magazine when the Academy of Televisions Arts and Sciences hosted an Evening With the Big Bang Theory on February 18th. "Fingers crossed that we can do that, I think an arch enemy is someone who appears from time to time."

Even though my personal motto is Don't Be A Dick, I've wanted to play an arch enemy for pretty much my entire career, and I love that Bill described me that way, because I was kind of hoping I'd earn that position in the Big Bang canon.

I've known this was a possibility for just over a week, (coincidentally, I found out the day after I did my Big Bang Theory Q&A post) but didn't get the official offer until this morning.

After my manager called casting back and confirmed, I called Bill to thank him for bringing me back. He sort of chuckled, and asked me if I wanted to know what their plan for the episode was before I accepted the offer to come back. I told him, "You could have me do nothing more than eat Chapstick the entire episode, and I'd come work for you again, because I had so much fun last time."

He then told me what the episode is about. I'm not revealing any details, but it's safe to say that it's a lot more awesome than just eating Chapstick.

I start work on the 24th, and we tape on the 2nd, if you wanted to try to get tickets to the show.

I'm going to go do the Snoopy dance until I fall down, now.

  1. As a certain balding, fat, yellow, guy we (should) all love would say, “WOOOHOOO!!”
Any idea, if this will be a Series 3 episode or are they working on Series 4 now?

  2. I would *love* to play more of these characters. The whole point of being an actor is to pretend to be someone you're not, and you can't get more unlike me than these characters.
Also, it's a whole lot of fun.

  3. This one is excellent! Thanks for sharing it! I still love your Guild one best, though, I think. Any chance of a download for that one? (I didn’t see a link?)

  4. Yay!!!! Can’t wait to see your comeback on Big Bang Theory.
It seems like you are appearing a lot as evil, you do it so well and its so different from your past nice guy characters. Although I wouldn’t mind seeing you as the nice sweet guy as well.
I hope that you will also be returning on The Guild Season 4 as Fawkes. /crosses fingers

  5. I’m tickled freakin’ pink that you’re making another appearance on the show. You know arching and perform it well. You’re previous appearance ranks high among my favorite BBT episodes.

  6. Oh yay! Now we just have to convince John Rogers to bring back Chaos on Leverage, and you can come back to fabulous PDX, land of happy and polite geeks, and be ebil here, too!
Fawkes may or may not be ebil; it depends on how big a smile Codex went to sleep with. 😉

  7. Wil,
According to many acting teachers, you are playing the hardest part. Imagine some of your favorite films without the bad guy. You can wake up now and do another great job.

  8. You do the Snoopy dance, many of us will be doing Kermit the Frog yelling, “YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!”
Head back, hands a flappin’, capering all over the place.

  9. Yay! Wil, you have made my day yet again! Not only are you coming to Portland soon (I’m counting the days until Wootstock), but you’re reprising your role as EVIL WIL WHEATON. This is amazing news! I may have to buy a DVR or a *gasp* videocassette so that I can rewatch whenever I want. After all, it’s not every day one gets to see EVIL WIL WHEATON eating chapstick. May I suggest Burts Bees?

  10. In other Wil Wheaton TV news, a bunch of old “Outer Limits” episodes got posted to Hulu including my all-time favorite, “The Light Brigade.” My wife had to ask me what the squealing was all about.

  11. Awesome!!! This has totally made my day!!! So, ok, I’m not at all that knowledgeable about production times and stuff, but will your next episode air this season or in the fall?

  12. Joins the Snoopy Dance…..it’s getting crowded here on top of Schroeder’s piano! Thank you, Live2tivo, for giving us a song to dance to. It will be in my head all day (not a bad thing).
Loved the reference to “Q”. Excellent analogy.

  13. No worries and you’re welcome! I’ll be sure to keep checking back and DL when it’s up. Take your time, oh ye of the lovely Penelope and cool posters (btw, it’s “jackwabbit” from LJ here).

  14. I don’t know if your schedule is free or even if it is possible at all; but it would be really cool if you would become a recurring (like Kripke) rather than a guest star.

  15. Wil;
As far I know most of your acting has been film type acting. How was it for you performing as a character in front of a live audience?
I’m so glad to hear evil will is coming back. It’s a bummer I got the wrong taping tickets. My friends and I were just there a couple of weeks ago.
