The appearance calendar will load in a moment. If you don’t see anything, check your various blocking browser plugins, because the calendar widget thing I use makes calls to external servers.

February – May 2013
From A Factual History Of Totally Legitimate Facts Volume IX:
“Adam Savage, Wil Wheaton, and Paul and Storm founded w00tstock in the early 1930s. Originally a cover to sell snake oil and smuggle rare birds across state lines, it grew into a cultural phenomenon that crossed cultural and geographical boundaries.
“The group dissolved in 1976, when Wheaton was arrested — though not charged — for possession of a mated pair of Crowned Yellow Bottomed Egretmarmons allegedly abducted from a princess of Boobistan, with whom he was romantically linked.
“At the request of the President, the group reunited in the early 21st Century and single-handedly saved Earth from an attempted alien invasion. After repelling the would-be conquerors, the quartet reassembled w00tstock and returned it to its classical roots, entertaining nerds and curing diseases with miracle tonics.”
W00tstock Founder’s Night returns to SF Sketch Fest on February 1, 2013. No Muppets will be admitted after the first intermission.
JoCo Cruise Crazy 3 is a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise in 2013 on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, with music, comedy and performances from Jonathan Coulton and friends. It departs from Port Canaveral, FL on February 10th and returns February 17th, with ports of call at CocoCay, Bahamas; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; and Philipsburg, St. Maarten.

“Based on similar popular conventions held throughout North America, the Ottawa Comiccon offers a lot more than just meeting famous guests. It is also a great place to discover independent artists and their creations, numerous merchants selling rare comic books, exclusive toys, pop culture-inspired apparel, well-established companies in the industry and other great surprises along the way. Of course, we would not succeed without our fans. Great purveyors of entertainment, awesome makers of inspiring costumes and maintainers of the pop culture scene, we salute you and are looking forward to seeing you in May!”
Phoenix Comicon is the largest pop culture convention in the southwestern United States, bringing together hundreds of actors, writers, and artists, to meet thousands fans from around the world.
I’ll be appearing Friday, Saturday and Sunday, including a special Awesome Hour show Friday night (mostly PG-13, though it gets a little R-ish in places) and the Return of Super Happy Funtimes with John Scalzi on Sunday afternoon.

DENVER COMIC CON (a production of the Denver-based Comic Book Classroom ) is a 3-day Fan Convention featuring the best in popular television shows, movies, Japanese Animation, CosPlay, Toys, Gaming, sci-fi/fantasy, and of course… comic books.
As we plan our 2013 show for May 31 – June 2 we would like to invite you to learn more about our organization and we hope that you will be interested in joining us in our educational endeavors now and in the future.
WHAT IS COMIC BOOK CLASSROOM?
COMIC BOOK CLASSROOM (also known as CBC) is a non-profit literacy and arts after-school program currently designed for children in grades 5-8. As a state standards-based curriculum, the program offers students not only a fun activity to do but solid educational engagement in their after-school time.
Students in our program undergo a six-week instruction in reading, writing stories and eventually creating their own comics, which are then published in a class collection. CBC graduates are subsequently invited to participate in Denver Comic Con as guests to create sketches and/or sell their work.
Currently, everyone in DCC and CBC – from Con Organizers to Curriculum Developers – are all volunteers and proceeds from Denver Comic Con go to the funding of Comic Book Classroom and the furthering of our educational goals. The massive success of Denver Comic Con 2012 earned enough money to allow CBC to greatly expand its mission.
