that spooky generation gap

Nolan and I carved punkins this evening, on the kitchen floor, the same way we have for the last ten years.

I was particularly impressed with Nolan’s creativity . . . even though put a pretty fine point on the generation gap.

    Actually, my pumpkins always look like the ones on the right only it seems like every year I make the mouths so big that the top part of the Jack’o’lantern’s face usually sags into the mouth like an old man without teeth.

  6. Great Pumpkins! Wow they are totally awesome dudes. LOL. I use to love baking the pumpkin seeds and eating them. I’d take a bag to school and share them with my friends. Those were the days. *sighs*

  11. Is it just me, or does the pumpkin on the left seem to be just a *little bit* embarrassed to be seen with the pumpkin on the right? (“Daddddd…..”)

  12. Very cool, especially the one on the right 🙂 Saw a picture of your brother’s fat cat, but I want to know about Softpaws since i never heard of it, doesnt it bother the cat ? or anything? I hate the thought of having my cat declawed.

  13. Its amazing how Halloween is such a big thingin America. All it is in Ireland is simply that the good kids put on a black plastic bag, and knock on a few doors. The bad kids uload thier hoard or rotten eggs on cars and unsuspecting passers by…. No lights or decorations in the house, although some people have started it. just find it intresting how some things are commercialised that others depending on where you live

  16. To address Iceriver, I work for our local SPCA and Softpaws are these vinyl caps that you can put cat’s claws (they are glued on)and they’ll last about a month or two. I recommend them, but fortunately my cats are pretty conservative with their claws. Anyway, check out the website if you’re interested at http://www.softpaws.com

  23. Interesting comment about Ireland, i’m originally from the east coast of Scotland, and while Halloween isn’t as big a deal there as it is here (the states) it’s bigger than you mentioned.
    The tradition of carving the pumpkin actually came from Scottish/Irish settlers, only originally it was a turnip … and it still is where I came from. Finding turnips in short supply they used a pumpkin instead, and believe me they are a LOT easier to cut up :).

So, what…photobucket and that other one ( i have an account there and I xcant remember the name. whats wrong with this picture?), whats with both of em?
