I love that I can sit here in a hotel in San Francisco, scan for an open WAP, and update my website.
Now, if I can just have my damn flying car, the future will finally be here as promised.
So this is just a reminder that I’ll be guest hosting Screen Savers on TechTV, tomorrow (Tuesday the 17th). I’m off to enjoy this amazing city with my wife.
UPDATE 12:09 PM 12.17.02: Attention Farkers: I will be wearing The Shirt.
That is all.

Flying cars? They promiced me hovercraft!!!
D’oh! Forgot to set the TiVo… Well, if the roomies aren’t home, I’m gonna have to rush back to the house at lunch!
You should treat your wife to a nice show at the Nob Hill or the O’Farrell theater.
On second thought she might not enjoy that sort of exotic entertainment…
I know I can kill a whole day in SF going to Japantown, the Metreon, the SF Moma, or saying a little prayer as I walk over the GG bridge for all the depressed people who leaped to their deaths from it. Yikes.
Hi Wil,
Just seen the Star Trek special of Weakest link, I have not laughed so hard in quite a while, even my mother thought it was funny but what amazed me more is the fact my sister smiled, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a smile on her face or even heard her laugh. The reason she chuckled was the fact I said that you had blue hair now, and she just thought that was funny.
I suppose what I’m trying to say is thank you for making her smile and chuckle and… well you know Stuff.

the flying car…long has it been a dream of mine…but imagine the chaos in the skies at christmastime near the mall.
Have a good time and stay dry. Fark has a posting about you being on TechTV tonight. Can’t wait to see the show.
You washed-up little cocksucker.
Fuck with the Gillmans, will you? Fuck off. I heard you didn’t even get invited to the nemesis premiere. You and Doogie Howser can rot in Hell. Check out my band at http://www.hot-fat.com!
Well, I can’t afford a trip to San Francisco right now..so I guess I’ll just have to settle for playing Midtown Madness 2.
I’ve never watched Screen Savers before…but if Wil is on it, then I guess there is no excuse for me not to see it! I’m even on vacation this week. So that’s either fate or blind chance. Coinkydink!
Good lord.
It is time.
Past time, really.
Can we all just PLEASE chip in and buy Wil a new freakin’ shirt???
He did mean “The Shirt,” right? “The Shirt” that he’s wearing in like every other picture taken in the last year?
You know, “The Shirt” ™.
Or wasn’t that the shirt he meant?
And don’t get shirty with me about this, Mister. I’ve got my eye on you.
>Flying cars…. flying cars….. wasn’t it Avery Brooks who demanded >flying cars? Oh well, I guess Star Trek inspires those dreams =) >Anyway, good luck on the show, have fun!
Phil, that commercial was hilarious! Avery was great in those IBM spots. I love Avery (and DS9) a lot to begin with, but that ad was all the more funny to me, ecause the first time my wife I stepped outside on Jan. 1, 2000 that was the first thing I said: “Where are the flying cars they promised us?!?” A couple moths later, that ad debuted.
Corky, MOJO MOJO MOJO MOJO…. I hope it helps! My thoughts are with the baby and her family.
Wil, I’ll be watching Tech TV tonight! I think we get that channel on DirecTV. I hope it’s not on the same time that Trio is showing reruns of the late, lamented, “Action!” That show was hilarious, as all three of you who watched it know. Have fun in SF, and say hi to Bob Weir for me.
π
i’ll have to get my sisters to tape tss for me tonight; i don’t get home until thursday π
especially if you’re going to be wearing The Shirt!
Wow. San Francisco, eh?
Isn’t that where “Starfleet Headquarters”
is located? Hey, Wil! Pick me up a souvenir
will ya? Thanx. π
Astute readers, of which the likes of this page does not embrace. How is it that a person of your subservient stature is deserving of his own web-page! I am thorougly outraged at this matter! Throughout my life I have embraced internet icons such as Ron Jeremy and John Holmes to the fullest of my abilities but Wil Wheaton! He is not fit to carry my jacket the penitent plebian! Wil, save the internet bandwith for someone who is deserving of such the honor of being placed, immortalized if you will for the world in it’s entirety to embrace and hold!
Just a few thoughts from the renegade crew,

The guy who keeps plugging his band, also keeps screwing up its name. Thet are not “Hot Fat”, they are “Hot Fat Ass Losers”.
Hey Wil,
http://www.moller.com/skycar/
Here’s your Flying Car….for real…gets better mileage than my 4Runner…enjoy the City (one of my favs)and stay dry π -S
Bitchslap, Not War

I can’t believe it! On The Screen Savers, Wil is wearing the same shirt from his talk at Spongebob Vega$ Pants! Check it out:

I just started visiting this site in October. What i am missing in the conversation about Wil’s shirt?
Is this your first time on The Screen Savers?
Flying cars… Does that remind anyone of Harry Potter?!?!
Much MOJO for your hosting of TechTV! Have fun.
I wanna Flying car… when they come out CAN YOU GET ME ONE?? :):) :D:D lol.. Have fun on the show… sorry i cant see it π
Just wanted to say that you’re doing a great job on TSS.
Wil, I sure hope you’re using some encryption when checking your email and updating your site over public WiFi (or private wifi, since really all wifi is very public). Email me if you want some tips on how to safely use your mac on untrusted networks. If you don’t use encryption on wireless networks, you _will_ regret it. Especially in a city like SF, where there are tons of people capturing data off the air. Heck, I was dumping data off wireless networks just last night in SF!
Speaking of which, you were missed at the creative commons thing lastnight (for which your name was on the guestlist..). There was even a live performance of the original trek theme π
Watching the show right now and enjoying every minute of it. Totally dig “the shirt” in fact you have your Christmas color scheme going…are those Green High Top Converse sneakers? Cool.
I really enjoyed the episode of TSS when they came out to your house to upgrade your system. Big fan of “TNG” and it’s great to see you again on TV Wil. (you look like you’re having a great time on TSS)
I’m watching SS now *covers eyes*
I’m watching you, Wil.
No, really.
You doing a great job hosting the show. π
you did great on the show today, i didnt think youd do that good.
You were great on Tech TV!
here is caps from the show if anyone missed it and wanted to see:

Very well done, Wil. I enjoyed the show very much, and you had good rapport with Pat & the gang. How cool was it to talk to Michio Kaku?
You were great!

You did great! I was quite impressed! They should invite you back more! ^_^
The Flying Car(TM) used the be THE symbol representing the future for me when I was growing up (I’m 5 years younger than you, Wil – this is my first post, by the way – hello!). Me and my friends fully fully believed that by the year 2000 (a year insanely distant back in the 80s) just about everyone would own their very own Flying Car(TM). Seems crazy today, but back then it seemed the inevitable destination of immediate technology.
Like you, I wait….
youre all bunch of lame asses for going to this website
Wil, you should definately fire who ever did the makeup on your upper lip from the Kaku interview…
Great show otherwise. Glad you wore THE shirt : )
Gah! It’s dot net, not dot com! Wil is not a business of any sort!
Your wife really needs to drag you over to Paseo Colorado or Lake Avenue to get some more clothes.
I’m loving the fact that good hotels are putting in WAPs and letting anyone use them. When I go with my brother to the Hyatt near SFO to study, I drag along my laptop and leech off their free wireless network so I don’t die of boredom.
In other news, good job on your hosting duties on TechTV!
im somewhat disappointed.. you dont know the source of the ayb flash! it was originally created by Bad_CRC, a (former) regular poster on http://www.tribalwar.com. small detail, but thought it was worth noting!
Thus spake Wil – “Wil Wheaton.com doesn’t take you anywhere.” Not true. When I type it in, I get taken here to wilwheaton.net π
Wil doesn’t know his own redirect? π
Just watched you on Tech TV. You were awesome! What a refresher after all the “amateur hour” stuff they’ve been doing! (Sorry Megan!) They should make you a regular except you’d have to move to San Francisco. Here’s hoping you co-host again, only this time with Martin! You two would be a hoot!
Your friend,
Tracey
oh, and just for fun.. the origin of a hell of alot of ayb pics: http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=24539&pagenumber=1
Wil, you rock. Just saw you on TSS thanks to my TiVo (I have no clue when anything comes on these days).
I’ve got to say you’ve been the best guest TSS has had (the acting experience helps). I think TSS should have you on as a regular guest.
Wil, GREAT job on the show!
I wish TechTV would offer you a spot on Call for Help….I would actually start watching it again….
Man you did great Wil! Just one thing, what the hell is the deal with Kevin and the Christmas party? It has been mentioned two days in a row now. The rest of us really want to know. (by the rest of us I mean myself and all the other voices in my head)
Major MOJO sent to DC!
Great job again Wil
great job wil! techtv should have a show about linux and you should be the host. lol
