50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

my god, it’s full of futuremugs

The Memories of the Futuremug makes an appearance in Stellar Cartography:

Isn't the perspective of the mug and the projector cool?

You totally could fit that projector in that mug.

I ordered mine to celebrate leaving my 9-5 for a life of freelancing as an actor/musician – then discovered that my fellow nerd (and Wheaton lover) best friend had ordered me one for the same reason! Geeks think alike, eh?
Can’t wait to start using it in my new ‘home office’ [read: in my pyjamas on the couch while unemployed]. Thanks Wil for making geeks happy!

Props on the “Year We Make Contact” reference…

    Don’t think that’s a projector. Looks like a tourist-see-the-vista-for-10¢-type telescope

I thought that too, until I looked more closely at it, and saw what I think are several lenses.

Love that mug! I’ve got a Picard xmas ornament hanging in my basement. Yes I’m jewish. But it’s Picard!

I love my futuremug, and that it’s mostly just for me to appreciate. A co-worker saw it and said “oh, that’s clever- your mug is reminding you that your tea is hot, so be careful!” I just smiled…

I found a place that sells those mugs.

How cool? Of course I found it cool that Capt. Picard drank the same tea as I did. I wonder if he liked his with honey? Hmm. I need that mug.

That’s not as cool as this place that sells those mugs: http://www.cafepress.com/wilwheaton.417431376

Never thought of it that way, but you’re right it does look like that! Yep, those are lots of lenses that put out about 6.5 million stars. I feel silly now for not actually putting something cool on the dome when I took the picture. Maybe I’ll take another shot…

Could the shirt be this? @wilw could it be this one? http://www.amazon.com/The-Mountain-Dragon-Fire-T-Shirt/dp/B000H8GWR0

Oddly enough, before my eyes focussed on the entire image I thought it might be a picture of your own mug with the silhouette of your Snowball mic in the back.

Really. How cool! Would you sign it too?

Sure. All you have to do is bring it to a con or a W00tstock!

Shitson, I haven’t been to a planetarium in ages, and I used to love it when I was a kid. It was what fed the spacenerd before I discovered star trek…

Hackaday just linked to an SMB sweater vest, saying “In an odd coincidence, not related to the 8 bit textiles above, we also found this Mario themed sweater. We wouldn’t wear it, but we’d love to see Wil Wheaton in it.” 🙂

Currently at my work station sipping “Tea…Earl Gray…Hot” from my futuremug as I spend yet another official non-working Friday playing tetris…WOOT!!

Well come on, then! Chop, chop! Not quite as epic as the creepy fucking Clown Sweater (thank you to threeleet.livejournal.com for the reminder, as if it’s NOT already burned into my brain), but still very amusing, and I for one would love to see one Wil Wheaton rock a Super Mario Brothers sweater. Better yet, how about Jeremy in one as well, since you two both have major pwnage when it comes to that game. I would love to see a reenactment of that shot, it just really all comes down to who will be dressed as Mario.

I think it looks more like an old microphone myself…but maybe that is just me!

I ordered my Futuremug Friday. Can’t wait! 🙂

Just ordered two of these, one for my wife, one for myself. She’s gonna LOVE it… we’ve been listening to Futurecasts lately.

I LOVE that mug. Want it, NOW. For me and my Trekkie father.

  26. Dave@NASA says:

Just have to follow up here… not only did I totally do the right thing to get my wife one as well as me (I knew she’d kill me if I didn’t!), but my Futuremug is now the pen & pencil holder amongst my center-of-the-conference-table odds & ends in my office at JSC here in Houston. Well over half of the many people who’ve met with me there recognize the quote, which is cool enough. But yesterday one of my budget folks stopped dead when she saw it, pointed at it and exclaimed “Wil Wheaton! I love his website!” Gotta love that. (Hell, she might even read this!)

That's really cool. Thanks for telling me that, man!
