My friend Warren Ellis wrote a fantastic short story called Dead Pig Collector, and today I get to record the audio version of it. I’m not sure when it will be released, but if you wanted to hear me read you a new story, now you know that you can look for it in the Mysterious Future.

“The library is a safe place.”
In order to survive, I disassociated for much of my childhood, but I clearly remember the books. That's where I found comfort, companionship, inspiration and validation. It's where the imagination that powers everything I do creatively in my life today was born. And it all started in that library, with that librarian. She was one of the first people I can remember asking me, "What do you like? What's important to you? What do you want to know more about? How can I help you find it?"

It's another one of those round up posts, like in the Before Times!
a Dream comes true at the world’s end
A person who follows me on Tumblr expressed some lovely and positive things about my performance in Act III of Audible's The Sandman. I don't know if I've talked about that here, so here's what I said to them.
Something in the site has changed security-wise. I’m guessing about a month ago. The site’s email now gets sent to spam, I fished it out of gmail spam and it says, “This message could be a scam. The sender’s account may have been compromised and used to send malicious messages. If this message seems suspicious, let us know and then alert the sender as well (in some way other than email). Learn more
Report this suspicious message Ignore, I trust this message”
Second what Mark said ( https://wilwheaton.net/2013/11/in-which-i-remember-to-keep-it-simple/comment-page-1/#comment-148573 )
“On and on side note, it seems your secure site is pulling insecure information. On IE it warns me and lets me click to proceed, on FireFox, it just blocks the unsecure content (maybe CSS or a plugin) and I cannot log in (via Google). I think CSS are being blocked because the layout of the page is totally different.”
My google log-in worked for the longest time, then didn’t work for a month or two during the early summer and now works again though other people seem to be having the same problem. It would hang on attempt.
That being said, I’m glad he also mentioned you as narrator as I’ll recommend to my friends they can read or “better yet, get the audio done by Wil Wheaton”.
Thanks for this, Darin. Mysterious Kevin and I are looking into it and hope to have this resolved shortly.
Cool!
Your life rules, Wil.
I bought the e-version of the story, loved it. Awesome that you get to be the narrator for the audio version.
