I’m feeling creative, and a little antsy, so I made you a thing!
Today’s free audiobook is The Middle Toe of the Right Foot, by Ambrose Bierce. I explain all about how I found it and why I’m so freaking excited to do this particular story, in the intro.
So instead of repeating all of that here, I’ll just give you a download link and an embed, and strongly encourage you, if you like my audiobook narration, but haven’t spent some time with any of these recent releases, to give this one a listen.
I am, if you can not tell by now, obnoxiously proud of myself.
Stay home! Stay healthy!
Yay! Lunch time listening for tomorrow!
I really enjoyed that, thank you!
Thank you Will. I have enjoyed your narration of John Scalzi’s Lock In and Collapsing Empire books.
I also liked Lock-in, Boneshaker and Ready Player One and Armada!
Hahaha, ok. I will.
I am, if you can not tell by now, obnoxiously proud of YOU!!! I hope you don’t mind if I borrow your phrase! 🙂 I’ll not listen to your wonderful narration!!!
Very cool! I teach his “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” to my 8th graders every year. Well, not this years it seems. =(
Thanks for sharing these, WIl; I’ve only listened to your first one so far but I have the rest all saved for later when I have time to get to them.
Love ya Will!
Wil, I’ve been following your blog for a long time now. I’m glad to hear you feel confidence in yourself. I hope you are well and continue to take care of yourself and your family. Glad you enjoyed recording this story, great to hear the enthusiasm in your voice.
Thank you, Wil, for once again generously sharing your time and talent to narrate. Your audiobook short stories have been the highlight of my day on some days of this pandemic. And yes, you DO have the chops to do Ambrose Bierce, because you’re fricking amazing. Keep up the good work!
Wow! Great read of a great story, both still reverberating in my brain! Thank you, Will!
Hey Wil! I usually check in on your blog every other day to see what you’ve been up to, but in all this i’ve lost complete track of what day it is or what’s going on out there. I’m all caught up now, and wanted to thank you for creating these stories for us. RFB has been there for me through so much, and i’m so glad to see you revisiting it for yourself and for us.
I hope you’re managing as well as you can (you, anne, the herd of animals you lovingly house), and thank you again for giving me something to listen to while i stress-clean in my basement flat with very literally sunlight
Where is Chen Qiushi, Wil?
I love TV and Movies, but books have always been my passion. After a long day of work on computers however, my eyes are often too sore and tired to actually read. Audiobooks became my passion and you are by far my favourite narrator. I first found your books because you often narrated for many of my favourite authors (Scalzi, Cline, and more). I then became fans of many more authors simply because you did the narrative.
You never fail to bring the books to life for me and being so much joy to myself and my husband who often listens along also.
Thank you so much for being a treasured story teller. I shall now return to listening to “Ready Player One” for possibly the 74th time. Stay safe and healthy! ❤️
You are a lovely boy, Wil Wheaton. It is so kind of you to try and keep us entertained during this trying time. Even that small pause to get a drink and apology at the middle of the story, was so natural and made me feel like it was just my friend Wil telling me a great story. Thanks for doing this. You’ve no idea how much it helps. Just be yourself.
Oh, what a marvelous story! And you narrated it so well, too. Thank you so much!
These are great Wil! I love the variety of story genres you’re tacking in this RFB Presents series. These are a joy to listen to on my commute during these strange times.
What a great story! Thank you for being both a great storyteller and a great person. ❤️
You’re proud of yourself and rightly so! It was a pleasure to listen to you and this story by Bierce is chilling! Great job!
Great narration and story pick Wil (and pretty much a cold reading too?). I look forward to the other 41 stories on SoundCloud that I haven’t listened to yet!
