Robot Astronomy Talk Show: Destroyer of Worlds

A few times a year, I get to go over to the Spitzer Science Center at Cal Tech, and do some voice over work for these wonderful educational shorts. I'm really proud to be a small part of IRrelevant Astronomy; we're making science accessible and entertaining, and hopefully inspiring people to learn more about our universe.

A few days ago, the most recent episode I did was released. It's called DESTROYER OF WORLDS.

In this one, I play a character who may be familiar to some of you, called The Physician. I hope you enjoy it.

And as long as I have your attention, I thought I'd share a few astronomy-related links that I find educational, inspiring, entertaining, or all of the above:

Have fun, and keep looking up.

Colin Ferguson and me, on acting

This was filmed by one of the producers, near the end of a very, very long day on the set of Eureka:

We're obviously having fun and being silly, but there is an element of truth to what we said: we have a good time when we bring these characters to life, but it really does require a great deal of focus and dedication. One of the reasons I loved working on Eureka so much was the cast and crew's ability to have fun and stay relaxed, while remaining focused and working hard to make the very best show we could make.

Remember that my episode, All The Rage, premieres this Friday at 9pm, on the network formerly known as Sci-Fi!

oh yeah, this is totally +5 to sexterity

Just in case you haven't seen it …

Congratulations to Felicia, the cast of The Guild, and everyone else involved in the creation and production of the Do You Want To Date My Avatar video. Ever since I saw a rough cut of it while we were shooting season three, I knew it was going to be a huge success (I made a note there, but I seem to have misplaced it. Dang.) so it's tremendously exciting for me to watch it take off like it has.

If you want to have a copy of it for yourself, and you want to support everyone who makes The Guild possible, you can buy the single at AmazonMP3 for 99 cents
and it's also available from .

Season 3 of The Guild premieres on XBox Live on August 25, and it hits MSN/Zune on September 1.

everything’s drawn and super 80s

Anne and I went to the grocery store this afternoon. When it was time to get the orange juice, there was only one left, and it was way in the back of the cooler.

I reached in really far to get it, and as I did, Anne began to sing the chorus from Take On Me.

If you follow me on Twitter, you already know this*, but even if you do, I'm telling you this story right now because it's a perfect excuse to point out, once again, that my wife is awesome. It is also a perfect excuse to repost the Literal Version of Take On Me, which is almost as awesome as she is.

Almost.
