50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

Play for today

  • random thoughts

To everyone who took a moment of their time and sent positive energy to Bob and his daughter in Iowa: Thank you. There are so many comments in that entry, and so much positive energy…someone commented, quite rightly, that if more people would take a moment out of their day to focus on the positive in life, and share that happiness with others, we’d live in a much better world. Thank you all for making a difference. I mean it.
Haven’t heard back from Bob, yet, but when I do, I’ll be sure to let everyone know how Katie did.
Today, my friend Kevin and I went down to sixspace to get a closer look at the Glen E. Friedman show, because it closes on Saturday, and have lunch with my friend Sean, who co-owns the gallery. It was awesome. The art scene in Los Angeles has come a long way in the last 5 years, and Sean and Caryn’s gallery is set to be one of the leading galleries in the city. I’m really excited for them, and I can’t wait to go see their next show.
Also, while googling for links to put into yesterday’s entry, I stumbled onto this review of “python,” which would be the worst movie I ever did, if “The Curse” didn’t exist. I just classified it as a “pay the bills while dressed up like a punk rocker” movie, but for some reason, they actually liked it, and gave it a “B-.”
Be gentle.
UPDATE:Some of you masochists have actually talked about wanting to see this movie. Here’s an Amazon link. If you really need to see this POS, and you get it from this link, I’ll get twenty-five cents. Which is twenty-four cents more than they spent on the snake. 😉

I’m going to a party with a bunch of horror/sci-fi geeks Friday night. I MUST find a video store that has Python, because this seems like perfect drunken party fare. Rest assured Wil: we’ll be laughing with you.

i must have missed that post about the dad and his baby girl. i tend to feel strongly about issues like this, and i can hardly imagine what it must be like for him. poor thing, what the hell can he do? i regret not being able to send my *mojo* his way this morning, but i wish him and his daughter all the best. of course, my regards possess no significance, but at most that’s one more person thinking of him…

    Wil,
I would have to agree that if everyone would stop for just a moment and send focused positive energy/thoughts/prayers most anything is possible, including healing and/or quick recovery.
Perfect example of this is the living proof of my neighbor, who 2 years ago took a 100ft plunge off a cliff, had major head trauma, and has not only lived to tell about it, but is back at work and DRIVING a car…his healing credit is most definately due to the focused minds, bodies and spirits of those who knew of his story, around the world…
Thanks for taking a bit of space here to help facilitate the same for another! Hats off to you!
    mojo a-flowing for them here!

I see Dave Coullier will be doing the voice of Tramm for the new Teen Titans cartoon. If anything should give you hope for a future Unka Wilie it’s that Dave Coullier can still get work in Hollywood ;-0 By the way did you know Dave claims to be the (GUY) Alanis Morisset is singing about in her song “you ought to know”?

If you think “Python” was or is something to sniker @ did anyone see Wil in “Fag Hag” a 1998 Troma Film in which he played a Christian bookstore and Nail Salon owner? For those of you who dont know, the Troma film company brought us such classics as the Toxic Avenger and Kabuki Man.
Wil has also done animated voice work for the movie The Secret of Nimh.

  24. RetroRandy says:

I see you shared the screen in Python with such greats as: the typecasted bad guy Robert Englund who still milks his Freddie Krueger fame, and the ultra eye candy guy Casper Van Diem.
Damn, I wish they’d make another Starship Troopers so we could see more co-ed shower scenes & hot naked whipping a la S&M military style. Maybe they’ll make a sequel for the Pax network?

  25. yodelingwerty says:

I don’t understand why some movies even get re-released on DVD. Do you really think there are that many people clamoring to posses their very own super snazzy, enhanced version of “Python” out there?

  26. Random_Tangent says:
    26 November, 2002 at 6:43 pm

I’m clamoring to get my hands on the DVD. Only $9.94 at Wal-Mart.
Personally, I loved Python. It wasn’t Citizen Kane, but it was an enjoyable Giant Snake movie. I got to meet Richard Clabaugh, the director, this summer, and it was fun to poke fun at him about it.
Hey, at least it wasn’t BATS.

I’ve stumbled on your site due to Fark. Just wanted to let you know 2 things – after reading some of your stuff… I really wanted to recommend the book The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. And second, I live in a crappy town called Wheaton – lived here all my life… after reading your thoughts and such, just wanted to say thanks for making the name Wheaton a little less grating.

I saw Python for one reason: to see Wil. I’m a rabid Wil fan: I still have my fan club membership card! haha!
And I really didn’t think The Curse was so bad. Check out Mr Stitch, if you haven’t seen that; that one was really different.
My favorite Wil flick? Last Prostitute is definitely up there.

Hmmm…am I the only person on this planet that liked The Curse??? Well so what if I watched over and over again with my sister aboout oh what 15 years ago. My sister loved horror films and I searched it out because it had Wil Wheaton in it. Totally grossed me out but watched it many many times till I could handle it, mostly. Never wanted to see Python even with Casper being in it but now knowing that both Casper and Wil are in it I might have to go buy it now.
Some of my favs…The Last Prostitute, Toy Soldiers, December..

WILLIAM ZABKA???!!!! I thought he fell off the face of the earth after the Karate Kid movies. Remember, he played “Johnny” who really liked to kick Ralph Macchio’s ass. Considering Ralph Macchio is 41, I think I want to kick his ass too. Wil, can you track down Ralph Macchio and kick his ass for me? You are much closer to him than I am.

Wil, I made a point of looking at the picture on Marv Wolfman’s website, and I don’t think you look like a dork at all! In fact, I don’t think you’re a dork–PERIOD!! There’s no way you can be a dork if you have enough compassion to put a request for “mojo” for a little girl on your website the way you did! To me, that’s the mark of a WORLD-CLASS (and I mean HIGH-class!) DUDE!!
There’s an old saying that what goes around comes around, and I hope it holds true in this case! To be specific, I hope your reward for this selfless act of kindness includes (but is NOT limited to) getting as much work (and I mean MEGABUX work!) as you can handle–including being re-instated in the next STTNG movie–Rick Berman’s wishes to the contrary notwithstanding! In short, DUDE, I hope your career goes to Warp Factor 10–AND STAYS THERE!!
And I especially hope that you and your family have the happiest of Thanksgivings.
    Sincerely,
    Tom Nichol

LMAO. The last couple of times I’ve been in Target, I’ve gotten VERY close to picking up “Python.” When I saw the name of the character you portrayed, I thought, “Sweet! I bet Uncle Willy gets EATEN!”
So am I right, or do I have to spend the $4.99 on the DVD? 😉

  36. Tim says:

Why didn’t you tell us you were working with Dave Coulier also?
I mean…he was the funniest ranger on a TV show based in San Francisco w/o gay characters.
Except for Dave anyway. 🙂 Where is that Candice Cameron now anyway?! I thought she was soo hot back then!

heh… “while googling for links to put into yesterday’s entry, I stumbled onto this review of “python,” which would be the worst movie I ever did, if “The Curse” didn’t exist.”
that almost sounds like something Kibo would write. although he’d throw in a couple references to “Sssss” and “The Monkey’s Paw”, followed by a description of “python” re-made in the same style as “Clutch Cargo”, but with John Travolta’s lips.

That’s insane. Someone I know here bought Python for absolutely no reason on DVD and when he told me that Wil Wheaton was in it, I was like “Huh? Whoa! I wonder why I’ve never heard about it!”
    Now, I think I know.

Python…why does that sound familiar? Damn it, I wonder if I’ve seen it. If not, it still sounds, hehe, interesting *ahem* enough to check out. And trust me, it can’t be bad. I’ve seen REALLY bad movies. Really bad. No, I’m not kidding.

Anyway, sitting here in my office in Dublin, and it’s raining cats, dogs, elephants, and various other heavy objects, and just wanted to say that while it’s weird, it’s good to see you’re doing something!!! i LOVE bad movies…if this PYTHON is as bad you say it is…then it’s a must see in my book!…it is a very thin line sometimes between bad and true art!…at the very least it’ll be good for a chuckle.

Heheheh I remember that movie. My brother was watching it and since there was nothing else on TV, I sat down with him half way through it. Then after a few minutes we saw one of your scenes and I looked at him and said, “Isn’t that…?” And he said, “Yeah, it is…” Then I said, “What the ?” Wasn’t very good but it wasn’t very bad either… B- is right. By the way, nice picture. :):):)
    Hope Katie feels better soon.

Wil, My mom owns Phython on DVD and absolutely loves it! I am dead serious. She made me watch it when I was down visiting. It is very bad and corny but since you were in it I enjoyed it…especially when your last scene in the movie. Your last line cracked me up in stitches. Anyways just to warn people…there’s a big Lesbian sex scene at the begining….very showy sex scene. It was horrifying to watch because my grandmother and mom were in the room. *Shivers* That thought still freaks me out.
