50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

Thank you, WWdN readers!!

  • Uncategorized

I just got the official announcement from Powell’s . . .
Turns out that WWdN readers have sent Dancing Barefoot to the top of the Literature and Sci-Fi charts!!!
And, as if that wasn’t exciting enough . . . because of you guys, Powell’s is completely sold out!!
Now, the great thing is, Powell’s is a member of the Booksense network of Independent bookstores, and they will report this great sales information to other Booksense members. This significantly increases the odds of other Booksense members carrying my book, or having me come to their stores for signings.
Dancing Barefoot would not exist without my lame website. My lame website would not exist without the people who read it . . . and the sales of Dancing Barefoot would be nothing without your support.
So please accept this enormous thank you, from the bottom of my geeky heart. 🙂

Very cool….checked out the list of independent bookstores in Madison, WI and a few of them have had signings by Michael Moore, Bruce Campbell, and some other cool people in the past. Hopefully you’ll be added to the list because you really need to get to Madison!

Oh my, PLEEESE come to Madison, WI!!! It was the original home of the ONION, after all!! We would take very good care of you and your book! (and wouldn’t even make you wear a cheese head hat…unless you wanted to, that is).

Great to hear the good news Will. Now my only hope at this point is for your book to hit big, because I can’t find a copy of it anywhere!
Oh and I was the first one to bid on the second Autographed Ebay book and the first one to be outbid to. I never have luck with Ebay!
Continued success (sp?) and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Wil, if by “lame” you mean “interesting, touching, funny, enthralling, and has a nice color scheme” then Three Cheers for your lame website!!
Otherwise, I have no idea what you’re talking about. 🙂

  21. Crissy says:
    25 November, 2003 at 7:45 pm

  27. Erbo says:
    25 November, 2003 at 8:16 pm

“…other Booksense members…having me come to their store for signings”?
    (Erbo begins chanting prayerfully)
    Tattered Cover bookstore, Denver, Colorado…
    Tattered Cover bookstore, Denver, Colorado…
    Tattered Cover bookstore, Denver, Colorado…
(When the cops wanted to subpoena someone’s book-purchasing records in a drug case, TC owner Joyce Meskis fought it all the way to the Colorado Supreme Court…and won. I can’t imagine Borders, B&N, or Amazon.com having the balls to stand up to The Man like that, but TC has no qualms about standing up for its customers’ First Amendment rights. That’s a good reason for you to pick them, Wil, should your future book tour take you near to the Rocky Mountains…)
Anyway, should I quit chanting and organize a petition drive or something?

  28. Andi says:

By the way, your website is not lame! (Banish that thought!)
    Have a nice Thanksgiving, everyone!
    P.S.
You’re always welcomed back in Hawaii!

  45. Chris B says:
    25 November, 2003 at 11:01 pm

That’s hilarious. Two Chris B’s buy Wil’s book this weekend from Powell’s.
I hadn’t bought it yet, and put it on my Christmas list. But once Wil mentioned the Powell’s link and the number of copies started to dwindle, I yanked it off my list and went ahead and bought it.
And, man, they were selling fast this weekend. I thought I might have missed my chance until I got the email shipping confirmation today.
    Congrats Wil!

  46. Dave M says:
    25 November, 2003 at 11:21 pm

Drat! I was going to be at Powell’s this weekend and was hoping to snag a copy! Curse this small printing! 🙂
Congrats, Wil, and you’d better make sure that second printing is a big one!

No,no, Thank you Wil! If you hadn’t returned my husbands email request of where to get a copy I would not be anxiously awaiting my own copy of DB, from said Powells. Woohoo! You are so cool! And congratulations! Can’t wait until JAG hits #1!
