Holy crap.
I have an actual Audition tomorrow, for a pilot!
This show sounds hilarious, and right up my alley: It’s about a married couple in their early 30s, and how they reconcile their punk rock past with their pottery barn present.
Funniest thing: I’m not reading for the husband with the punk rock past . . . I’m reading for the part of his new neighbor . . . who is an uptight conservative, whose idea of a good time is discussing the latest mid-sized SUV.
Talk about playing against type!

This comes to us from my son, Ryan Wheaton.
Good News, Bad News
I got an amazing job that conflicts with the Denver Comicon next month, so I can't attend the convention.
I am easily amused
Hooray for stupid jokes! *fart*
Sounds great Wil! I’ll be rooting for you. (But personally, nothing can beat the Teen Titans gig.)
it’s alot more fun playing against type than to be some character nearer to your own personality…because you know all the most irritating quirks of that type of person…if you were an uptight conservative you wouldn’t necessarily be able to get to the heart of such a guy.
Shine on, you crazy diamond. Rock the house, and break a leg, man!
CU
Break a leg and knock all their socks off! We’ll have all our fingers and toes crossed for you tomorrow! :^)
Good luck Wil!
Best of luck with the audition – and yeah, the against-type bit is amusing. Do you want the part?
Could they have found anyone who more embodies the exact opposite of this role? I think not. If anyone can pull it off, though, it’s you sir.
Break a leg.
/and a wrist
//and someone poor schlub’s ribs while you’re at it
Forget the starring role…the “whacky neighbor” is where it’s at. Passin’ the Mojo along..
Good luck, I hope you get the part!!!!

Break a leg!
KICK ASS!! WOOT! Go Willie, GO!
Good luck, Wil! Keepin’ those fingers crossed for you.
Mm…that sounds like it could be really good, or really bad. It’d all depend on the writing.
If you get the role though, I’ll definitely check it out. I may actually have to get cale O_o
About time too!! I for one would be delighted to see you regularly on the screen again- and I doubt if I’m alone judging by all the lurrve for you on this site- don’t the agents bods know about your massive follwing?? I’m sure you’ll be great- Good luck honey x
That doesn’t sound like West Wing at all. Hmmm…
Good luck,
Dave
I retract my statement in the last posting regarding the notion of your playing a Republican, Wil. It’s not that weird to picture. You’ll be great.
Good luck dude! Major mojo headed your way!
Just make sure they don’t hide your face behind an article of the set every time you’re on screen, like that *other* wacky neighbor 😉
Have fun with it, Wil.
Hey, I just saw (night before last on cable here in Australia) a repeat of the Outer Limits story you were in with Robert Patrick and Graham Greene. I thought you were great in that.
Good luck man, although…doesn’t this show sound a heck of a lot like the ill-fated Rock Me Baby? Well, here’s to hoping not!
It’s ashame there aren’t any conservatives around the net for you to get inspiration from. 🙂
Break a leg! Kill!
Good Luck Wil. I hope you get it.
Way to go Wil…I hope you get the part!
Heh,you are sooo not going to get it…JK.Do your best *audition mojo*
Break a leg! Holding good thoughts for you 🙂
As a kindness to the other folks at the audition, you’d better wear an appropriate t-shirt. 😉
Sending some Mountain Man Mojo to Wil as I open up a bag of Mountain Man Honey Roast Peanuts (the truck just came by the office). Knock ’em dead!
You go, Wil. It’s you,..you do have that kinda cute nerdiness they’ll be looking for. Think Wesley with an MBA.
Break both legs, dude.
I would love to see you every week on TV.
Sending major mojo and break a leg.
Way to go, Wil! I’d LOOOOOVE to see you on TV again 🙂
Cool! I think it’ll be a riot seeing wil playing conservative after watching him here for a while. 🙂 Go wil!
knock them dead Wil! I hope to see you more often on my new plasma flat screen!
Good luck Wil!
I think it’d be a lot of fun to see you “play against type” if you land the part!
Rock ON! Wil’s got a pilot audition! Hopefully this translates to more Wheaton on my TV other than reruns of TNG on SpikeTV. Can’t beat that, though, since “The Manly Geek” is on “The Manly Network…”
Oh yeah, have you called Sean yet? Call him, man, call him! The Oscar hype has to be dead by now, and if it isn’t, I’m sure he’d love to hear from and old friend and co-star…
Major Mojo for Uncle Willy! I wish you the best of luck. And guess what whether or not they feel you are right for the part, we know you will have tried your best, and we will all be waiting here with smiles to congratulate you for being you!
Yippers, Wil, I’m sending all my mojo your way for the audition.
There is no playing against type for great actors, and I’ve seen you do some wonderful acting over the years. You can play a yuppie or a guppie.
Break a legger…
Jeff
Best of luck! It would be great to see you back on the airwaves in something more than reruns.
Good Luck and have fun.
Wil, your an actor? What have you been in, before? Just joking. Good luck. I’m sure you will be a knockout!
Break a leg Wil! If not your own, then someone elses! ^_^
Mojo from San Francisco coming your way.
lol Sounds exciting. Good luck on the audition and hope everything goes well for you.
Btw, any copies left of Dancing Barefoot? And are you still autographing them?
Most of my male buddies have called themselves “Trekkies” for as long as I can remember. And “back then” I always claimed to be one of them, although it was a well-known secret that I wasn’t. I was just a *huge* Wil Wheaton fan and frankly, Wesley was my only reason for caring about that show, I admit.
A few days ago I saw one of those old Star Trek episodes again and, though I enjoy my (almost) daily visits on your site and your writing talent immensly, I found myself thinking “Gee, I’d really love to see him acting again.”
My point?!
Well … lots of good luck to you, Wil *beams*!!!!!!
*hugs from a German fan*
Good luck, Wil! I hope things go great for you. I know you’ll do an awesome job.
Nothing but good karma and monkey mojo heading your way. Good luck Wil!
Break a leg, Wil!
I auditioned for a bit part in that Anonymous Rex MOW here in Toronto. Didn’t get beyond the first callback, but it helped me believe that the drought in this city may finally be ending. (ok, getting off topic, I stop now)
o man wil, thats awesome! good luck! you’re gonna be great. cant wait to see teen titans this weekend too.
Wil-
Congrats on the audition! Hope it goes well for you – it’d be great to see your mug on the tube again someday :>)

Good luck to ya’!!
Break a leg, Will! We’re all rootin for ya! 😀
Yay, good luck. I’m sure you’ll have tonnes of mojo!
