50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

add it up

Holy crap.
I have an actual Audition tomorrow, for a pilot!
This show sounds hilarious, and right up my alley: It’s about a married couple in their early 30s, and how they reconcile their punk rock past with their pottery barn present.
Funniest thing: I’m not reading for the husband with the punk rock past . . . I’m reading for the part of his new neighbor . . . who is an uptight conservative, whose idea of a good time is discussing the latest mid-sized SUV.
Talk about playing against type!

What a treat for your fans if you do get the part! I wish you the best of luck. I know that you will be outstanding in the audition.

Will, you rock – good luck and have fun! I know auditions suck but I’m sure you’ll blow them all away. Especially because you fit the profile so well…;0)

Please! Like you even NEED to audition. You should walk in there and go, “I’m Wil Wheaton, HELLO? ‘Stand By Me’? ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’? Where’s wardrobe? What’s my call time? You, with your mouth hanging open, get me an Evian!” I don’t know Wheatmeister, might be time to change agents. Anyhoo, go get ’em tiger!

    Hi Wil!
I read this earlier but had to leave for work. I hope the audition went well. I’m sure you did a fabulous job! It’ll be a real hoot to see you playing an uptight conservative! Hope it all works out!
    Hugs!
    Tracey

I’d be so excited to see you on T.V. again Wil. I just came across your blog the other day while I was pretending to do work, and I’ve been really impressed by it. I hope you know that you already have a huge fan base who’d be willing to support you, and that we all know you’d be great in any role you take. Good luck with the audition 🙂

jay: I believe he started on Lindows, then installed Mandrake 8.2 and upgraded to 9.0 at some point. He was considering moving to Fedora Core 1 at one point a month ago. He also looked at Gentoo, and has used Knoppix.
You can verify all this by Googling for “Linux site:wilwheaton.net”.

So, how did the audition go?
BTW, even if it didn’t go your way, you did get exposure. You may be in line for another gig. In any case, I hope you get long term work soon.

    Wil
Dude the part is SOoooo YOURS!! You already own it! Yours for the taking. Everything else is but a formality. Relax, focus, think on your feet, play it loose…
    Sending MONDOMOJOHOOPAHLOVEAGEKARMAFESTFOO your way!
Oh and have lots of fun 🙂

    Break a leg Wil!
Regardless of whether or not you get the part, auditioning is always such a valuable experience for a performer. I’ll keep my fingers crossed though. 🙂

Having been caught without internet access for a few days, the best I can do is say that I hope the audition went fantabulously. And, what the hell, good luck anyway, a bit late.

  27. Danielle says:

Way to go, Wil! *sends mojo your way* My hubby and I will definitely tune in if you’re on!

  28. jen says:
    6 March, 2004 at 8:50 pm

take in a pic of you with the blue hair, lol, maybe they will change thier mind on you should read for.
    congrats!

  29. William Sherwin says:
    6 March, 2004 at 10:59 pm

Good luck with your audition; however, no matter how good this part is, assuming you get it, I still don’t think that you’ll ever be able to get any parts that top Gordy and Wesley…
Anyway, what’s wrong with playing a conservative? Perhaps, after having to act like one, you may even move from being a far-far-far-leftist to a Dodd Democrat… 😉 And, after that, you may even become more like me – a George Will Republican… 😀
