50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

beautiful day

Posted on 29 April, 2004 By Wil

OH MY GOD!
I just got off the phone with Anne. Kris got the results of her biopsy just now . . . and IT CAME BACK CANCER-FREE!! The chemo and radiation have done their thing, and she’s safe for at least two years!
I feel like I’m going to cry. I saw Kris this morning at Anne’s salon, and I thought she looked healthier and better than I expected. We talked about the support WWdN readers have given her, and how much your love, prayers, mojo, tantric healing waves, and crazy voodoo monkey magic have helped her at this time.
You guys . . .
I just don’t know how to express how joyous and grateful I feel right now.
Anne will write more details later on.

    ROCK \m/
Celebratory pledge going out this weekend; thank God today’s payday. 🙂
One of our volunteers at work stayed cancer-free for 16 years; she referred to her latest bout of chemo as “the 16,000 mile lube job”. 😉 Hopefully Kris has one of those maintenance-free jobs and won’t ever have to go in again!
    Hugs and mojo all around…

That’s great news man! My dad is still in the hospital, they had to remove a benign mass from the lower left lobe of his lung. They actually ended up removing the whole thing. He’ll be alright, but I just wanted to say that I feel for ya homes.

Thank you, thank you for posting that and keeping us in touch. Thank you God for bringing Kris through this, and all the doctors for doing so well with her. This is just what I needed today, a little hope for the cancer world.
I just found out last night that we’re going to lose my uncle to cancer in a few months. They’re not even going to try treatment, he’s so far gone. When I was 8, I lost one of my best friends to leukemia, and I decided then that when I was grown up and had a real job, the Canadian Cancer Society was going to be my charity of choice. Even then, I gave $5 or $10 each year to the fundraiser run my school did in his memory. (For a 10-year-old in the 80s, that was a lot!) Since then, my aunt, grandfather, and another friend have all joined the “survivors” group. (The friend still has one more hurdle until he can be declared cancer-free, but he’s been doing amazingly well.)
Each time you posted an update on Kris, I held my breath. I was SO glad to see this morning that she’s been declared cancer-free. Congratulations to her, and good for you, Wil and Anne, for all fund-raising you’re doing for the cause. We need to get rid of this disease for once and for all.

where can I learn that crazy voodoo monkey magic? I’d like to use that to help people with their health battles. is there a college or do I have to become an apprentice?

I was just sitting here thinking what a shame it was that it’s raining on Friday, and a payday at that! Then I click over on the ol’ Yahoo! RSS feed to Wil’s blog and lo’ and behold a miracle has taken place! Now I suddenly feel like putting the top down on my car and cruising just enjoying life! Congrats to Kris and here’s to good news!
Oddly, my anti-ergonomic office chair seems softer and more comfortable somehow. Strange. 🙂

This sort of news is always great to hear.
Canadians should note that it is now possible to donate to the Canadian Cancer society via PetroCan when you gas up (in blocks of 5000 points). It’s nothing out of your pocket and it does add up over a year.

    W00T! That’s awesome!
I haven’t been around WWDN nearly as much as I used to. I realized that I tend to focus on a couple of addictions at a time and the rest fall to the side.
I’m still checking in every once in awhile and want you and Anne to know that I’m thinking about you even though I’m just one of thousands of readers to you.
Great job with the fundraising. Keep it up!
My prayers go out to Kris for good health for the rest of her long life.

Wil, I’m on the verge of tears myself, and I’ve never met Kris. I am so happy for her, not only for beating cancer for at least a couple of years, but for having such incredible friends like you and Anne. Which means she must be a great person herself.
Continued good health to her, and to you and your family, Wil.

—By the way Wil. Don’t know if you’re into the horse racing thing, but there’s a horse in the Kentucky Derby tomorrow that has a pint of Guiness for breakfast every morning. The name is Tapit. Thought you might be interested…
