  2. Just put in my pre-order for JAG.
Amazon.com Top 100 Bestsellers lists you at 44!
Congrats on breaking into the to 50.

  3. Ok, late to the party, but still..
Congrats, Wil! Great cover! Where do we order the autographed copies? 🙂

  4. *sigh* Those eyes. I’ve just fallen in love with you all over again.
You look determined and sapient. As though you’ve weathered the storms and are living life on your own terms.
    Can’t wait to read it!

  5. Congrats, Wil! You’ve worked hard for this! I got Dancing Barefoot for my wonderful geek hubby for Father’s Day last year — this year I’m getting him JAG. Love the cover!

  6. wow – love the photography! Simple yet striking.
I’m so exited – I leave for the states in about a week, and then …. I get to buy the book!
    *beam*

  7. Excellent! I like the cover…and the book is 41st on the Amazon top sellers list at the moment. Not bad going when it isn’t out yet!
In case anyone was wondering, Amazon.co.uk also have it up for pre-order.

  8. Pre-ordered it DIRECTLY (along with a Linksys WRT54GS 802.11g router). I think I’m just a geek myself.
Wil, care to add Kansas City to your list of book tour cities?

  9. I am very happy to say I have preordered
your new book and ordered Dancing Barefoot as
    well.
The Just a Geek is now ranked at 41.
    Way to go Wheaton!

  10. As someone making tentative steps into the literary world I have been watching and learning from the progress of your book through your blog and audio log entries.. and I have to say that I hope you don’t mind me sharing in the good feeling that comes from seeing the fruit of such intelectual and creative effort. I am sure to harass my local bookseller to contact your publisher and send us some copies ( I live in one of the more remote regions of the Australian outback ) to this here little city of ours.
    congratulations mate, top effort

p.s No not everyone here talks like Steve the Croc Hunter umm actually I’m yet to meet any other Australian who speaks like that bloke.

  11. Wow, that cover is soooo good.
Just ordered my copy from amazon uk, and i can’t wait to get my copy and start reading.

  12. hmm, it’s doing well. It’s 26 right now at Amazon. 11:22 am Central.
I’m going to buy it at a book store if I can swing the bucks. Sorry I can’t add to the presales numbers.

  13. 11:50 Central Time #23 at Amazon
I would like to point out for the record that going through the top 25 items, there are 4 that have not been published yet:
    3) “My Life” by Bill Clinton
    11) “Song of Susannah” by Stephen King
    21) “Ten Big Ones: A Stephanie Plum Novel” by Janet Evanovich
    23) “Just a Geek” by Wil Wheaton
    Wow. Congrats Wil!
And oddly, they don’t have a cover photo up. Somebody should ping O’Reiley about that (on the assumption that Amazon needs their permission to put up the cover photo).

  14. Great book…. can’t wait! Hope you’re coming to Canada on tour so I can meet you and get a signed copy!

  15. 13:38 Central time: JAG is number 21 at Amazon.
Just a Geek has now passed the Janet Evanovich book, making Wil the third-highest pre-ordered author after Bill Clinton and Stephen King. Whoo-hoo!
WWDN readers: A force to be reckoned with. I wonder if eventually we’ll get our own market segment? “Stephen King’s new blockbuster novel has fallen to #3 with Young Adult readers, but is still climbing at #2 with WWDN readers.” 🙂

  16. WOW what an amazing cover.. It just speaks volumes. I still haven’t read Dancing Barefoot, but they’re both right up there on my list as soon as I get some spare cash!
Now when are you doing a book signing in Edmonton? 🙂

  17. Phoar.
Must. Get. Linux. Shop. To. Stock. It. So. I. Can. Buy. It.
This is the book to fill the niche between Harry Potter volumes. :p

  18. This just in: Despite misgivings that a foreword by Patrick Stewart would sell more copies, Neil Gaiman has confirmed he will write the introduction to Just a Geek. Tonight, actually.

  19. *squee* really?! too cool! that means i can get him to sign that too when he comes to my friend’s store this fall & then just stalk Wil til he signs it. 😉
Wil, how about an official announcement, eh?

  20. Wow, congratulations…..
Looks fantastic, no little wil anymore hes all grown up! (this coming from a 17 yr old)
    Anyhow hope it does well
