50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

Come and see me at ACME on Wednesday

  • Uncategorized

If you’re looking for something to do on Wednesday night, and you’re in Los Angeles, come on down to the ACME Comedy Theatre!
I’m a panelist in a live stage version of the classic 1950’s gameshow “What’s My Line?”
It’s going to be incredibly fun. We’re doing it in a 1950’s style, so we’ll all be in vintage suits, and talking just the way they did back when Television gave you cancer if you sat too close to the set.
For all the details, head over to my pal J. Keith vanStraaten’s site.
Print out this entry, show it at the Box Office, and you’ll get 2-for-1 tickets!
The show starts at 8pm. There’s a restaurant and bar right next door (and it’s good, too) so you can make an evening of it! Come on, put the kids in the bathroom with the seat up and some newspaper on the floor, and treat yourself to a night on the town. You deserve it, baby.

I wish I could make it, Wil!
I hope you have fun, and say hello to the coyote for me!

Dammit all. Hangar & RJD2 on the West Coast. You doing comedy and signings on the West Coast. How did New York suddenly become NOT the center of the universe? It’s boring over here in the world’s capital.

    Hey wil!
Don’t eat at the restaurant if it’s Red Lobster, because you could catch crabs there like my big brother, and that’s not good!

Hey Sally, you have the same name as my friend, Sally! She’s very beautiful, american indian, and very smart!
Don’t drink too much coffee, Sally, because it could make you crazy like my mom! She drinks 3 pots a day, and runs around the house going crazy, but mostly at my dad. She kick him alot with her big feet!
My big brother says she’s tweaking, but what? I thought she was not good with electronics.

I went to the ACME site and it says the show is on Thursday, not Wednesday. Which info is correct so I can plan on being there? The two for one deal is convenient. I’ll bring the mister. Wil, break a leg and check your email (subject: KC Kings signing…). I wrote a recap of my personal experience at two of your book signings on my blog (post title: blog inspiring parts one and two). In short they were tons of fun.

I guess I should have left the URL to my blog so if anyone was interested in reading my book signing recap they actually could. Well, here it is folks: http://azukeeper.com.

Dang Wil, I wish you could come to Mpls to do some shows like that! Or just come to Mpls period…I think it would be your kind of town!

sounds like a lot of fun… and 2-1? My God. But, then I have surfed J. Keith’s link and there is no price to be seen.
Which begs this Jewish boy to ask: how much is it, Mr. Wheaton?
Speaking of mother’s advice… mine always said regarding price: “If you have to ask…”

Being in Sunny LA for Wil’s event sounds a lot better than the soon-to-be snowy West Texas. That reminds me, I could really go for a hooker right now.

    Dude!
I’ll bet Ann Magnuson smells as purdy as she looks…Can we get a confirmation on that one?

I think the tickets cost $13 a person. That’s not too bad actually. Pretty standard price for this type of thing (music shows, theater acts, etc.).

    Wil,
I wish I could be in L.A. for ALL your performances!!! Oh man the west coasters have ALL the fun! 🙁
Take the show on the road!!!! Bring the wife and kids!! 😀

I’ll be there unless this bug that’s making me cough and sneeze today sticks around. Otherwise I may just have to cheer from the comfort of my warm living room. Have fun if I don’t see ya!

Ok. 60 minute flight to Sydney, 3 hour transfer, 14 hour flight to LA (maybe night stop over in Hawaii?), 2 hours through customs (including fingerprinting), taxi to Hollywood via hotel somewhere near beach. I may just be able to make it! Bugger, too expensive. Oh well.

Wil, please please consider coming to Canada. Vancouver, BC to be more precise. Lots of opps to read your book and chat with bloggers (there’s a blogger conference in Feb 2005. See http://www.northernvoice.ca/) Will volunteer some time to help you out if you get to Vancouver.

Very cool. LA has all the fun. 😉 I’m thinking video taping your events would be a good idea. Sell them on the website. Start a little library of Wil performances. Then for those who haven’t a chance in the world of seeing most of your performances live can still see them on DVD. Think about it… I’m sure they’d sell well. 😉 Hey, I’d buy it! (Because after scoring a copy of Long Time Gone all the collection needs now *are* recordings of the live shows. *shudders* Why do I have that? Oh well… I did laugh my way through the car chase. I watched it after reading the Nolan/respawn post. Mitchell probably respawned. A kid in a car going 100 mph and crashing into stuff w/o wearing a seatbelt? Total respawn moment — if it had been real, Mitch would have died. ;))
Break a leg Wednesday! {{Mojo}} to the troupe!

I can’t believe you are performing live on my 30th birthday and I am IN GERMANY. ARGH! I guess I can’t really complain since I am in Germany…. I’m going to go munch on some chocolate and wash it down with some room temperature beer. 🙂 Have too much fun!
