My CSI airs tomorrow night, and E! Online’s Guilty Pleasures said some nice things about it today. There’s no perma-link option that I can find, so here’s the blurb:

CSI: The Next Generation
It’s not like we sit around reading blogs while we’re supposed to working–we totally don’t–but sometimes our work leads us to read blogs. (Just trust us, okay?) Anyway, fans of CSI, blogs and Star Trek: The Next Generation will find no greater confluence of goodness than on this week’s episode of the forensic crime-stopper series CSI (Thursday, 10 p.m.), starring Wil Wheaton, onetime Ensign Wesley Crusher and current blogger, as a homeless man who, at least according to Wheaton’s blog, has bad hair and rage issues. Certainly, more drama will ensue, and we can’t wait to watch and then read about it on Wheaton’s site. After work, you know.

After my episode airs, I’ll be able to write in a lot more detail about the specifics of filming it, and comment on how the final cut reflects and differs from what we shot.
Man, it’s only one day away! I can’t believe it’s already here.

Well… I don’t have anything really insightful or funny to say but I thought I would jump at the chance to be the first commenter. Good luck with the show tomorrow night.

    Hey Wil,
This is my first blog comment! I thought I was going to be the first commentor, but after registering and being redirected to comment, I am not. I’ll be sure to check out CSI tomorrow and I can’t wait to read your blog after it has aired.

I”m upset at my sister’s VCR not working – since I don’t have cable I can’t watch it – she was going to record it for me but now that is out of the question
so when is it coming out on DVD?? *looks hopeful*

Hi Will…you don’t know me from Adam, but I read your blog every day (favorite so far: the AudioBlog about the American flag doormat), and your “Will Save” article in Dungeon Magazine is always a good read.
I just wanted to drop in and say hello, and let you know that I’ll be watching CSI this week to catch a glimpse of you. After all…how am I supposed to relate to your blog entry about it if I don’t watch the episode? Right?

OK, with two small children (one just about 4 and the other 1 1/2), I don’t generally watch TV. I haven’t ever seen CSI. And I’ve only known about your blog for a couple of months. But I’ve been reading it regularly since then and also downloaded your Gnomedex audio, so I feel like I’m hip to WWdN thing. However, I surprised myself the other day when I nearly told someone I was going to watch CSI this week because a *friend* of mine was on it. I mean, that’s kind of an out there claim to make, considering that I’ve never met you. If you weren’t voluntarily blogging, this would really be something more like stalking. It felt weird to have to reign in and explain the true situation. Does it ever feel weird to you?

The Hubby and I have been counting down the days until your CSI airs. We can’t wait!! We think the show rocks in general, but your appearance makes it even more exciting!! Break a leg, we’ll be watching!!
    P.S. Hows Sketch doing?

Heya Wil – I’m secretly worried because I’m not catching a glimpse of you in the video trailer on the CBS website. I really wanted to see a shot of you yelling something “crazy”. I’m also noticing that the guest star that the video promotes is Stephen Baldwin, but I would think they would at least mention you! Can’t let anyone outshine his [cough] star now can we? Perhaps I’m just behind on my viewing but the date on the video says 3.10.05! Help a needless worrier out and assure us we’ll have some Wil goodness on the telly!

Like I said in a comment on a previous CSI post, I don’t have cable, so if I can’t commandeer a friend’s living room and TV tomorrow, I am so going to a bar and comandeering their TV. And their remote. And I won’t let anyone speak during the episode. And then they’ll call the cops. And then I’ll get arrested. And thrown in jail. But at least I’ll get to watch the show from my cell.
Can’t wait to see it, Wil!

I can’t wait to see the episode either. I’ll just have to wait though. In Australia we’re a bit behind, though thankfully not as far behind as I thought, only about 10 episodes behind. Hopefully channel 9 doesn’t take the show off, only to put it back on later in the year, like they did last year.

I can’t wait to see the episode, I’ve been patiently waiting for this, I’ve also been bugging my mom about it (she’s a CSI and TNG fan). The VCR’s set, let the show air.

What a pleasant surprise to open this morning’s NY Times and see a great article about Wil (complete with pictures)! I see Ronnie has already mentioned it–it’s a terrific piece about Wil’s acting and writing careers, and highlights his appearance on CSI tonight. Congratulations Wil, I can’t wait to see your episode tonight!

Yes… the NY Times article was a real bonus to Thursday’s paper…and pretty appropriate considering Thursday is “Circuits” day: the techie section of the paper that comes out but once a week.
One of the best things is that it’s going to create a “buzz”, and more of those gigs are going to come your way, Wil!

Thank heavens for TiVo. Our local CBS station is pre-empting all of tonight’s program for a basketball tournament, and it will instead be shown at 1:30am.
I’m really looking forward to watching this!

Will you be podcasting a commentary of the episode? I would love to be able to re-watch the episode with a commentary, as you mentioned about Battlestar Gallactica. Either way, I can’t wait to watch tonight and read your recap.

Oh it will take a while it the episode airs here in Europe 🙁
The channel that airs CSI in my country has just begun to air CSI:NY so I’ll have to wait till the end of this season to begin the new season from the original series…. and then till Will’s episode … it seems too me quite a long time to wait….
To those who can see it tonight: Have a good time!

I will admit to having been a Wesly Crusher hater. To be honest, I would have hated any kid they stuck into that role. I never bought the whole families thing on the ship. In later seasons when they finally stuck Wesly into a real uniform instead of that greyish blue turtle neck thing, I could tolerate him. But he always had that stigma from the first few seasons on him.
Then I found WWdN. And I grew to know the person behind the uniform. And I found that I liked that person. And two things have happened as a result of the obvious pain, pleasure, and passion he puts into this website.
    1. I have gained a new prespective on those early shows of ST:TNG, the first season is still the worst, but I no longer place any blame of that on that lanky clumsy kid.
    2. I will be watching CSI for the first, and probably the last, time tonight.
    Congrats Wil, break a leg.

Congrats Wil! I just watched my first CSI ep ever and it was because of you. I really don’t recommend doing it while eating dinner, but I thought you did an awesome job! That was certainly the first time I’ve seen you play a crazy homeless guy with dreads. Thanks for the entertainment!
    BTW – Are you really 5’10”? 😉

Ah! The East Coasters (or rather, non-PSTers) are beating us to the punch! I’m glad I was quick enough on the scroll to miss any possible spoilers.
I’m typing this fast because the commercial break is about to end. No sign of Uncle Willy yet…the scary cop just got the kid to confess.
I’m looking forward to read your blog about the episode. Boy, it’s going to be an unproductive day at work tomorrow.
“What?! Urinating in public?” They just mentioned you! ;-P
    Cheers!
