Just A Geek has gotten a couple of nice reviews recently, and I wanted to share them with WWdN readers, because the book wouldn’t even exist without your support and encouragement.

It’s inspiring stuff. Wil’s tackling the challenges that life has thrown at him full on. In doing so, he’s rediscovered a skill for writing that is engrossing, engaging and even endearing. You feel for the guy as he tells of his struggles, as a working-class actor, to land roles in movies and shows; as he struggles to make ends meet. But you also cheer with him when he scores victories, and things come together, either getting back on the Trek circuit, or making the leap to embracing his current situation. He’s a long way away from the loaded actor I suppose I thought he was having had such roles earlier in his career. He really is Just a geek.

Despite not having chapters devoted to such things as the snacks you should have for a successful Dungeons & Dragons gathering, Just A Geek was a great read. Wil gives you a look into his personal life and his difficult journey to find himself.

Careful with the family stories, Wil!
I wrote an anthology of friend and family stories – “Memoirs of an Italian Geek”, which is more fiction than fact – but I still have pissed off friends and family members from it… it seems that they saw more of themselves in some of the characters than they should have – or at least that I thought they would have… they were quick to take offence to it and I haven’t sold very many copies.
Morale of the story is that family will always love you because they have you but that doesn’t mean that they automatically like you enough to will pee on you if you were on fire.

I picked up your book this fall when I saw your face on the cover I couldn’t resist. I’ve always loved your acting, it was cool to see you writing. SIcne then i have been checking your site pretty regularly. I just wanted to say way to go I really enjoy your writing and I’m glad everything seems to be picking up for you lately!

I love The Impulsive Buy! I can’t believe I missed that in my surfing of the archives. Marvo cracks me up…and he has good taste, so it shouldn’t surprise me that he reviewed Just A Geek…
I read “Dancing Barefoot” the other night and loved it. You are such a great write and can seeminly effortlessly bring acroos emotions hidden in the words so that i didnt feel them coming. Its also powerful how totally into your emotions and open with them you are. I think thats one of the biggest strengths you have. That and you are so damned funny! I’m so excited to hear about the new writing projects, and i can garuntee i’ll add them to my librray when they come out!
A fiction novella? Outstanding! After reading your other work, that is what I think you should do; you have a real gift for describing things in interesting ways that is the mark of good writing (to me, at least).

I had hoped you’d get more screen time on CSI tonight, but the show was good – and Walter was definitely crazy!!
Great job! I hope it catches the eye of other…show, movies, whatever. It’s always so much more fun watching something – a game or play, etc. when there’s someone you know, or feel like you know up there.

As someone who thinks that celebrities are typically jaded, it does my cynical li’l heart good to see someone who is still so enthused and excited about his craft.
And I’d like to add that CSI is a weekly must-see for me, so I was pleasantly surprised at the wonderful performance last night. MUCH more believable than Stephen Baldwin.
He’s just…sort of creepy.

I couldn’t get Richard’s site to load for some reason, but The Impulsive Buy is a great blog (they obviously have good taste since they gave your book a positive review) and some of the funniest writing I’ve ever read online. Reminded me of Dave Barry, who is hella funny. Looking forward to your new books when they come out.
