    Wil:
There is some (mixed) research on the positive results of having strangers “pray” (that is, provide positive thought energy) on your behalf.
Given that you will have hundreds (perhaps even thousands) of your blog supporters “thinking the most postive thoughts for your success at WSOP” and that they won’t be unknown to you (you can figure for every 1 who blogs to tell you they are, there are probably another 2 who didn’t), you have QUITE the advantage over the other 6559 participants.
Remember, to win, you have to do each of these things at least once per day:
    – Get a lucky break
    – Make a great raise
    – Make a great call
    – Make a great lay down
    Go get ’em.

I think it humorous that they quoted the words “Will Call” and “GOOD LUCK”.
“GOOD LUCK” as in someone once said this and we are quoting it here but in no way wish you the sentiments of the phrase “GOOD LUCK”. Also notice that OUR “GOOD LUCK” is in capitols thereby indicating that we wish you the maximum of fake innuendo that a quote can have. We also hope that you will visit the “Will Call” area as it is called by the people “in the know”. Some other people who we will not mention here (noobs) also call it the “Ticket Counter”, “Ticket Pickup Window” and the laughable “Ticket Booth”. The phrase “Will Call” is not merely for those named “Wil” or “Will” even though the world sounds similar. However those named “Wil” are welcome to pick up their “ticket” at the “Will Call” area. We encourage you to pay us “money” and enjoy the “service” by our “wait staff” and also “lose big”. Your schedule has been selected by completely impartial and totally made up computer generated or perhaps not completely fabricated “spinning wheel” or “dart board” technology. We mention this only because we don’t want you to think we just kinda made it up. We think that Harrahs has “innovated” its way into poker “superiority”. That is all!
    Who writes these things?

That’s frickin’ excellent! Best of luck, and remember what Homer Simpson thinks Vince Lombardi said: “If you lose, you’re outta the family!”

    Finally, I know the question.
“What event number was Wil Wheaton given for the 2005 World Series of Poker?”
    “Forty-two.”
    It all makes sense now.

    “Event forty-two”
OF COURSE it’s event 42, that is, afterall, the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything!
KUSHTY BOK (Romany for “Good Luck!”), Wil!

  15. Matthew Cox says:
    27 June, 2005 at 1:26 pm

the least they could do is rename it “Wil Call” in your honor.
Since it’s event 42, take your towel, and if I can catch it on TV, I’ll mix up some Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters while I watch…

I’m not even a poker geek, and that’s still really fucking cool. Hands down.
So, in the pseudo-allegorical narrative that is Wil’s brain we’ve seen the Actor, the Writer, a whole lot of monkeys (not to mention the Husband, the Stepdad, et al)–question: who plays the cards?
    (50,000 monkeys with 50,000 poker chips can’t be wrong…?)
Give ’em hell, Wil. You know you will!
