two thousand one hundred and ninety-one days

  • WWdN in Exile

Friday night, Anne was on the phone with one of her friends, and I heard her say, ". . . my husband."

I love that. I love it that I’m her husband, and I love it that tomorrow, I will celebrate six years of being married to my best friend in the whole universe.

Congratulations. You are both of you very lucky… and hard working!

Congratulations on six years. I think that’s just fantastic. My parents are going through a divorce after 21 years of being married, so any sign of love I see or hear of is very welcome.
Hope you both have a great day!

The simple things like this that you write are truly the best.
    Happy 6 years.

Congratulations! I always love your Anne-and-you stories. Here’s hoping you have many, many more happy years together.

Congratulations to you! I have the suspicion that good partnership is hard to get and harder to maintain. You constantly got to change and adapt to new circumstances without changing too much. So love is work too. Oh – and fun.

Almost 14 years for us and my husband still refers to me as his “bride” sometimes. I love the romanticism of that but I love the comfort and strength I feel when I hear him say “my wife”. There’s nothing like a good marriage when all around you are failing.

Wil, Congratulations to you and Anne! Happy Anniversary to you both. My grandparents have been married for 70 years and just hearing how much you love Anne on here I can tell you two will have 70 years of happiness too..

  28. Becky says:

    Twelve years here.
DH says, “Woman, fix me a pot pie!” And I say, “Get off your butt and do it yourself! Are your legs painted on?”
This is usually a pretense to romance later. Nothing gets me going like potpie threats. God we have a lot of fun. No one is more fun than my husband.
But maybe Anne is, I dunno. Go fix her a potpie. Congrats.

My wife and I just hit 6 years on Oct. 2. It seems like a long time, but then again seems like it was only yesterday that we got married.
Happy anniversary, and I’ll have a drink tonight to toast many more — any excuse to have a drink is good by me.

A very, very happy anniversary, Wil and Anne! (Robin and I celebrate our seventh just 29 days from now…)

  41. Momcat says:
    7 November, 2005 at 3:31 pm

Oh, Wil and Anne, Happy, Happy Anniversary! MY best friend and I have been married for 31 years. This August our son got married to HIS best friend, and told us that our refering to each other as “best friends” led him to determine what he wanted in a wife.
So, congratulations, not only on six years together, but for setting a standard for Ryan and Nolan that will reap benefits far beyond what you might imagine!

  42. Heather says:
    7 November, 2005 at 3:59 pm

Congratulations! And thank you for still being so happy about something so simple (and powerful).

  43. PrincessLadyBug says:

The fact that you know how many days is the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard. Anne is a very lucky woman.
    Happy Anniversary to you both!

Happy Belated Anniversary, Wil and Anne! May happiness always smile on the both of you. The sixth anniversary is suppose to be celebrated with chocolates and sweets — hope you got a lot of that in too!

  45. Pookie says:
    7 November, 2005 at 6:18 pm

I will just toast to you the toast that was said at my wedding. My husband’s best friend and best man got up in front of all my husband’s Baptist family and said “May your love never end and may your honeymoon be like a kitchen table–all legs and no drawers”.
Come to think of it, I have never heard back from Aunt Ruth after she passed out.

Congratulations to you! I have a whole new appreciation for marriage now, after getting married in May. I didn’t think it would make such a difference after 6 years together, but it did. It’s a great thing. (Although I’m still getting used the the “my husband” bit!)
I love hearing your relationship stories as well as your family ones, and it’s clear how wonderfully you and Anne complement each other.
    Happy Anniversary!

Congrats…ever year will get better and better..as long as you keep working at the relationship. My husband and I have been married for 14 years and it’s great. Never take her for granted (it doesn’t sound like you will).

That is so awesome. My anniversary is Nov. 7 and it’s now been 7 years. Congrats to you both.

    Congrats on six years!
My husband and I are on day 39… I only hope in 6 years, we have even a fraction of the love and happiness you and Anne share.
