50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

i could keep it above, but it wouldn’t be sky anymore

  • WWdN in Exile

It turns out that I didn’t take as many pictures at the PCA as I thought I did. It’s kind of a drag, because Anne and I specifically agreed that, even though it’s a bit of a hassle to carry the camera everywhere, we always appreciate lots of pictures once we get home.

Oh well. It’s just more motivation for me to get fabulously wealthy, so I can justify the purchase of one of those really skinny and ultra-portable digital cameras everyone else has.

Anyway, I uploaded most of the good photos to my flickr account in a nifty little photoset called 2006 PCA. For some reason, there isn’t a single picture of me in the poker room, which makes me sad.

I have “merch envy” of the shirt you’re wearing in the picture with Ana and Isabelle. I expect I’ll never be able to get one. It’s probably some sort of ultra-exclusive “gimme” shirt from one of your highfalutin’ poker events. Sadness ensues.

That picture of you and Anne is just priceless.

    Wil, Wil, Wil, Wil, Wil…
If you are going to be fabulously wealthy, you are going to need to start thinking fabulously wealthy. When you are fabulously wealthy you don’t purchase one of those really skinny and ultra-portable digital cameras everyone else has – you hire someone with one to follow you around taking pictures for you.
The fabulously wealthy don’t take pictures – they are in pictures.

Heh, that’s right, Wil, when you’re fabulously wealthy, you’ll have your own papparazzi stalker assigned to you. You’ll get lots of vacation photos then. They’ll just be really grainy and on the front page of National Enquirer.
In the meantime, Canon makes some nice small ones of about 4Mpix and around $300. It’s not cheap, cheap, cheap, but not outrageous either. (Says the guy with $2K of camera hanging from his neck.)

Wil – You and Anne are as lovely in person as you are in that great pic. (Observing in a non-stalker kind of way, of course!!)

Have you heard the version of that song by Cry Cry Cry? I can’t compare it, since I haven’t heard the REM version, but I like it quite well. It’s rock-folkie.
Looks like you had a beautiful vacation, too.

I have to say I for one feel sorry for Wil.
It looks like PokerStars.com put him to work hard in that horrible hot prison island working his fingers to the bone for them. They should call them PokerSlaves.com with the way they treat him. Damnit he should join a union and not put up with their crap any more 😉

Unless you are very careful with the shot, those tiny cameras take terrible pictures. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Hi Wil! This is my first post.
I stumbled across your site over the weekend, and thanks to you, got NOTHING accomplished! LOL Your blog is hysterical! I also heard your audio blog on http://wwdnaudblog.blogspot.com/ , and I loved it! I have to say, there’s something about hearing you cuss up a storm about your computer not working, that cracked me up!
Also, on a side note, I’m a young mother, and a cancer survivor myself, and was very touched to see your walk for Kris, and your fund raising efforts. Good job!
Oh, one more thing– my father married my step-mom when I was 5, and she is one of THE most important people in my life. Step-parents are awesome… can’t wait to read your book.

My post has nothing to do with this post (though those pictures of Atlantis were pretty fracking incredible– is that place real?). I’m just wondering if you caught Al Gore on C-Span yesterday. Holy cow. If you haven’t seen it yet, find it and watch.

Yeah, Kristen I read the transcript and saw the video shortly after.
Unfortunately, the people who need to hear it, and need to understand why it’s important are already chanting the “sore loser” refrain.
