attention star trek fans – i’ll be at the grand slam in pasadena next week

  • Uncategorized

I just realized that the Grand Slam convention in Pasadena is coming up in just ten days, running from the 10th until the 12th at the Pasadena Convention center.

I haven’t done any conventions since this show last year, because I didn’t feel like I had any new material, I thought it made sense to take a break from cons, yadda, yadda, yadda, but since I have Just A Geek: The Audio Book, and some advance material on Do You Want Kids With That? I thought it made sense to attend this show.

I also thought it would be a fantastic and unique opportunity to do a Star Trek podcast, with interviews of anyone I could talk to, as well as an audio diary of my experiences at the show.

So I gave Adam at Creation a call, and even though it’s super last minute, he added me to the schedule. I doubt I’ll be doing anything up on stage (everything is booked already) but there’s a chance I may sneak on to introduce someone, or do something cool.

Hope to see some of you there!

Good luck with the Convention Wil. The last Convention I saw you live you were up on the stage. The guy who gave the intro for you did such a fantastic job.
Totally off subject, Anxiously awaiting the next Radio Free Burrito broadcast.

Drat…and I’m stuck here in the Midwest. In any case, hope you have a blast, and I’m looking forward to your new book. Finally finished the other two and adored them. You’ve got a great style of writing and it’s easy to identify with you. So, until then, I’ve got some S. Gaiman I bought off eBay to help out a friend to peruse. Have a good evening!

Yes! I look forward to that podcast!
I don’t suppose you could do some fan interviews or something like that. Help us get a feel for what it’s like to be Wil at a convention?

You HAVE to do the Vegas convention. Two years ago – when you ran into Brent Spiner’s time and he came in and interrupted? Oh man. Best. Moment. Ever.
I’m serious. I’ll miss you if you aren’t there, and then I’ll cry. And then how will you feel?

What are the odds of you coming to Ft Hood, Texas?? Actually, I’m with LadyBug with the Houston thing. I’ll drive the 3 hours to see you in Houston! Any chance?

The good news: I will be in L.A. the weekend of the con. The bad news: I won’t get there until late Saturday night, and I’m committed on Sunday, so I won’t get to the convention. Oh well, have a great time there! Sorry I’ll miss it.

Hey man-guy-dennis-dude! Try South Florida for a change. My bribe still stands… I’ll buy you a couple of Guinesses. And I’ll also introduce you to Seminole Indian Gambling. (Or should I say “Native American Seminole Nation Casinos”?) There’s lot’s to do down here, like: dodging hurricanes, beating up the homeless, and reading War and Peace while waiting for the traffic on I-95 to move more than a foot (though I suppose your used to that sorta thing). Not to mention (but I guess I am mentioning it): we gots the best damned Cuban food anywhere outside of Havana. For true.

Since you MENTIONED Star Trek, I don’t feel bad for bringing this up.
I was watching Spike last week, and they were airing TNG re-runs (big surprise). And I saw the episode where Wesley and some girl he was interested in (Robin?) re-took the ship from a “game” that had been used to brainwash the crew.
I find it interesting that the writers were able to so accurately prophecy the release of World of Warcraft so many years before it was even conceived. LOL.

Wil, I don’t know if it is too early to tell, but do you know of any cons taking place this November? Because I plan on going to SoCal then and, if possible, I would love to go to a con and meet you. : )

Man definitely wish I could attend. Yes I am a star trek fan and yes WESLEY WAS my FAVE char growing up, Data was second. So I do hope to attend ONE convention in my lifetime.
When I was in vegas, the star trek experience was a blast, but a convention would round everything out.
