Memorial

My sister got married this weekend, and after the wedding, our two families gathered on the
beach where they were married, and threw flowers from the bouquets into
the ocean, as a memorial for our family members who aren’t with us any
longer, and couldn’t be there to witness the ceremony.

I threw in a flower for my Aunt Val, who I miss more than anyone.

    What a beautiful idea.
My husband’s father and my own had passed on before our wedding (mine a decade before, his only a couple years prior). During our ceremony, we had the mothers each carry a white rose up to the altar in their memory.

Brings back my own memories of ‘Just a Geek’ she sounded like a great lady. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful picture. If you ever decide to give up acting and writing, you could totally rock the photography world.

Not that I’d ever want you to give up either acting or writing. I’m just sayin’.

    Hi Wil,
Brilliant and warm means to remember them. Sister nee Wheaton is a bright one!
I recall that we put a special message on our video – sort of a “We miss you” to our absent friends. Those who had passed and those who were too far to come. We ended up sending copies to the family of those who had passed, and to our friends and relatives who couldn’t make it. It was really appreciated.
In retrospect, I sure wish we had more ocean here in the midwest, so we could have done something like this.

Thank you for bringing part of your family to us.
    A beautiful memorial.
