50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

made of 100% win

Posted on 30 November, 2007 By Wil

One of Jonathan Coulton‘s fans sent him a French translation of RE: Your Brains. JoCo (which I suppose I need to call him now, since that’s what his fans call him, and I’m quite obviously a fan) recorded the French version, and released it yesterday:

While recording I couldn’t help but notice an opportunity in the
third verse for a reference to “Alouette,” that famous old French song
about plucking feathers off a bird. My first ever joke in French! Vive
me!

The result is this new version of Re: Your Brains for French
speaking zombies everywhere (yes, even Canada). I hope zat you like eet.

Re: Vos Cerveaux

Freaking. Awesome. Please to be Propelling eet?

Now the question to ask is: Which goes better with brains – White or Red Wine?
French Zombie Taunt: Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberries!

AHH! Christ, that’s not supposed to be there. I must have borked a setting in Feedburner.
    It should be gone now.

The Laughing Vulcan – I think red wine would go better. I mean, one drinks that with dinners like steak so I assume one would drink it with brains. Very meaty.
It is official. My officemate does think I’m crazy. But I couldn’t *not* play it out loud. 🙂

I’d love to Propel it for ya man, but as I said in a comment on another post not too long ago, I’ve already signed up for way too many things because of you (and am now receiving some most excellent spam, thankyouverymuch), so no signing up for Propeller for me…
    But I do love it!!

What did you sign up for via me that’s giving you spam, kristinalead?
Propeller is the future of social news, and I’ll be spending a lot of time there in 2008. I’d hate for you to miss out on some cool stuff because of an unrelated spammy experience on another site.

Not sure. Not even sure of all I signed up for, cause I just went and did it every time you had a post that said, “Hey, go here to look at some kewl stuff.” (Damn your powers of persuasion!)
OK Wheaton, I’ll take a chance on ya one more time… you really haven’t lead me too far astray… well actually, you’ve made me spend a lot of money!!
    xoxo

I first heard the original of this lovely tune at http://www.spoonyexperiment.com/ at the end of the a hilarious video review for Samurai Zombie Nation, a crummy video game from the late 80’s. I never got around to tracking the song down. Now I think I have to get around to that.

I am saddened that the Picard rap did not work out for the Datalore review but I did Propell the story. 🙂

If I would’ve known of your affinity for the french language, I’da whipped out a few catch phrases in Vegas. The mrs. (MrSpock) is a native Kébéker, and I’ve become quite fluent myself in the last 10 years of freezing my ASS off in Montreal.
