50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

With Vozme, you can turn any chunk of English text into an MP3 file by clicking one button. It’s far from perfect, and isn’t as clear as using the "speak" thing on my Mac (Oh, Vicki, tell me that you love me!) but it gets the job done quickly and easily, especially if you’re supposed to be working and really want to be screwing off instead.

I just amused myself by converting a bit of my forthcoming Angel One review for TV Squad into a weird robotic voice.

Enjoy: Download mp3_angel_one.mp3
(136KB mp3 file)

(Vozme was found via Lifehacker)

You can also use Automator to make a little application on a Mac that converts text to voice; look for the “Text to Audio File” action.

OK, Will, for you I played with Automator, combined a few files and saved them to mp3. http://prescottcomputerguy.org/tmp/Will_hears_voices

I’m pretty sure I sound like this after several shots of Jaegermeister.
Does anyone else think it sounds like creepy slightly British voice is saying “we don’t have to watch Wesley and his friend doom their best saucy Chapstick impression”?
Why do they need saucy Chapstick? Is there something Wesley hasn’t been telling us about his “friend”?

If you’d like some more fun with voices, AT&T has a pretty cool free demo of their research voices at:

I am still on a break from public life, but I understand some number of people were concerned that someone was building a foundation to impersonate me, and I wanted to verify that those accounts are, indeed, mine. There is no need to report them. But thank you for looking out for me.

children are not property. they are people.

Children deserve to be children. Children are not the property of their parents who can use and exploit them for their own gain. They are CHILDREN and they will spend the rest of their lives hurting because you stole that from them. Ask me how I know.
