50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

the loneliest number

  • WWdN in Exile

I have a sticker on my car that says, "There is no place like 127.0.0.1"

I get to explain it to a lot of people, and I’m usually rewarded with a blank look, followed by a pitying look, followed by parents holding on tightly to their children as they move away slowly at first, then quickly, never turning their backs on me.

Such is the life of a geek among normals.

My pal R. Stevens, creator of the always-awesome Diesel Sweeties comic, has a new T-shirt with a different take on the 127.0.0.1 joke that hit a little close to 127.0.0.1 for me:

Loneliestnumber500

There will be 10 kinds of people in the world: those who get this shirt, and those who don’t.

(Okay, that was taking it just a little to far, I will admit.)

Cypox, Why is it SO important to you that Wil mesure up to YOUR standards of geekdom? Who the hell are YOU? By that I don’t mean “Who the hell are you to judge someone else?”, I mean “Who the hell are YOU?” Last time I checked, this is Wil’s blog, not yours. And don’t give me any of this “I regret being misunderstood to this extent.” crap. If you are capable of writing that statement, and then IMMEDIATELY follow it up with “…again, provided that he indeed worked as one and not just appeared in a commercial for Newtek.” then you know EXACTLY what you are doing. How sad is your life that you think it’s cool to come into someone’s “house”, insult them by demanding that they live up to YOUR standards, and then play the wounded innocent card, all for the sole purpose of stirring up shit? Really, can’t you think of a better use for your time?
Sorry Wil, I wasn’t “Feeding the troll” (That really WOULD make a great shirt, BTW)…BITCH-SLAPPING the Troll? Guilty. 😉

Two stickers on the back of my car:
“Who died and made you root?”
    “Nice marmot.”

After a long Exile, I returned home this weekend. Until the heat death of the universe or I stop blogging (whichever comes first), I'll be back at WWdN.

This is the second to last post I made at WWdN:in Exile. I’m copying it here for completion’s sake. In 2001, blogs were very new things. In fact, as much more time was […]

This weekend, after way, way too many years in exile, I’m finally returning home. Wow. Typing that made me feel all the feels. I wasn't expecting that.
