50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

is there anyone home?

  • WWdN in Exile

. . . yep. But my doctor says that talking on the phone, sending e-mails, posting in my blog, and spending too any time doing much more than watching TV (I’m still too drugged up to fucos — I’m not changing the spelling on that because it’s so goddamn funny — on reading this big stack of graphic novels I bought for the recovery) raises my blood pressure dangerously high, making me bleed a lot. I guess bleeding a lot is something I’m supposed to avoid for the next few days, so it’s me, the couch, and the TV.

I’m trying to get Anne to guest post while I’m drooling on the couch and watching Modern Marvels, so maybe there will be something worth reading here in the near future.

Thanks for all the get well wishes you’ve all left in comments and sent via e-mail. That’s very kind of you all.

Fucosing = bad. Vegging = good. Working = bad. Robot Chicken = good. Bleeding = bad. Comic novels = good.

    Rest well.
Try not to bleed on the couch.

Glad you checked in, but take it easy. It’s difficult but we can live without you and your Wheaton-ey goodness for a little while.

I’m not feeling well either dude. I’ve got a fever for the second day in a row. I need more cowbell.

Take advantage of not getting to do anything except catch up on comics, movies, and shows. When you’re back at work, you’ll be busy enough!

    Rest Well.
Modern Marvels, How It’s Made, Some Assembly Required, Dirty Jobs…

Watching Torchwood is a good way to spend some time.
Plus, then you can talk about it if you like it, which is good for the rest of us.

Like TV isn’t gonna raise your blood pressure! You need a Survivorman marathon.

I’ve always found that the involuntary release of precious bodily fluid(s) is not nearly as much fun as the voluntary.
    Get Wil Soon!

Please enjoy your forced relaxation. I know it’s hard to go from super busy to 0 but later, when you are still not 100% and life gets crazy again, you’ll regret not just relaxing when you had the chance.
    Feel better soon!

Relax, take a load off, and feel better soon! I take it that your packing came out just fine?
I’ll keep sending some “get well soon” thoughts your way.
And blog posts from Anne would be extremely cool!
    Cheers!

Take your time resting up, we’ll all be here when you’re ready to get back to the blog.
And Scott W, good call on Torchwood! I’m alternating Torchwood season 1 with MI5 season 1. But stay off of that for now Wil, that one would certainly raise your blood pressure – intense!

Add my wish for you to get well soon, Wil.
Love the Torchwood love (and the Welsh accents!)

  14. Jen says:

Hope you get to feeling better soon, Wil. Don’t bleed all over Anne – well, at least more than you need to, anyways.

Back in the good old days, warriors would hunt and gather and bleed all the time. When man started to become civilized, they did not bleed enough and started blood-letting. In Modern Times we give to the Red Cross every couple of months to help us and those who could use it. Ask your doctor about giving blood after you are better.

I was actually just wondering how you were doing, early today. You always have the best timing.
    Get better soon!
PS: Do bloody movies make your blood pressure go up too? 😉

    Yikes!!
Get away from that keyboard! The couch is your friend! No stress! No bleeding!! More reading!
    Go.
We’ll still be here when you get back.
    Feel better soon!

Enjoy your rest while you can! A few weeks or a couple of months from now, you’ll be looking back at these days of laziness with longing. Well, without all the pain and blood and stuff.

Good to hear everythings turning out okay.
Now stop trying to fucos and go watch TV. Bleeding all over everything is bad.
Hope you get Anne to post. I really liked the “Notes From the Wife”(or whatever it was called) series. All..what, two of them?

I’m a huge fan of How It’s Made, and recommend it for many reasons:
*It won’t make you laugh too hard
    *It won’t make you cross
*You just might learn something new
*And sometimes it puts you right to sleep
Mend quickly, but mend properly. Take care!
PS: blood loss is generally not recommended by the medical community. I’ve been told it’s more useful to the inside of the body than the outside.

Definetely take advantage of the “vacation” time. The idea of sinus surgery sounds aweful. Get well soon, and use your time wisely. I mean there has to be some manga, comic, TV, Movie and/or passive video gaming to catch up on!

I do feel your pain, in a manner of speaking. I had a friend who’s had it done and it’s not pleasant. Get the rest you need and take care of yourself. Before you know it, this will be all over and you’ll be back to playing Rock Band in no time!!!!!

Hello Wil! Been reading your blog for a few days now and enjoying it a lot. I look forward to reading your books at some point.
I hope you feel well soon.
I finally decided to say hello when I read how you felt about being a step-dad. I’ve been one myself and am currently a divorced dad. It was a “turning point” of sorts to realize that you are just a normal guy, not the idealized hero of a guy who grew up watching you on TV.
Thanks for the awesome blog and again, speedy recovery!

Just thank god you’re not bleeding like Richard Zednik.
Did you see that? Scary shit there. Then they have to show the Clint Malarchuck cut to the neck from 20 years ago of course. That one was even scarier. He was like a fountain of blood.
I now know why they make neck guards mandatory for all our minor hockey teams here in Ontario.
    Take care dude,
    Mark.

ok firstly what are you doing on here if you have to rest? as much as we shall miss you your recovery is more important.
secondly Anne being a quest poster on here and keeping us up to date would be a great thing.
and finally happy valentines day since I live in england and it is now 3:27am february 14th. Hope you and your wife have a great day.
Even if that means you sitting on the couch watching tv while she looks after you.
take care all of you and get well soon wil.

  44. Squishymeister says:

Enjoy your comics! I hope you feel better soon.
Remember, drooling leaves stains, so try to drool on stuff, beware the drool! Blood also leaves stains, but they’re a lot cooler than drool stains.
riiiight, I’m making nearly as much sense as you, only I don’t have a terrible illness to blame it on (just grad school eating my brain).
    (again) Feel better!
    Amber

  45. JennyW says:

It’s always great, once in a while, to have a legitimate excuse to catch up on shows, read, and generally be a puddle. You sound like you’re so busy most of the time that I’m sure the rest of your body (in addition to your sinuses) is appreciating the break. Get well!

  46. Jenn M. says:

Rest up, we’ll wait. I think it would be fun to have your wife guest blog here!

Hey Wil–Get some rest and try to enjoy the lack of fucos and all the wonderful things TV has to offer.
Hey Anne–It would be WAY cool for you to guest blog. For all the time Wil spends talking about you, having you write here would feel like old friends getting together for coffee.

  48. timelessboulevard says:
    13 February, 2008 at 10:22 pm

No, no bleeding! I think there was a study correlating reading graphic novels (coupled with doing nothing else) post-op directly with ideal (no complications) recovery. 😉 I’m just making that up. Enjoy the time of rest!

  49. Crissie says:
    13 February, 2008 at 11:02 pm

Get better soon! A comic-reading binge with Anne would be a very nice way to spend Valentine’s Day. 🙂

  50. Upquark says:

Live long and prosper, young Jedi! 🙂
Mixed themes are often the most fun! Too bad you cannot roll to save against the evil Sinus…
Get well as you must keep those kids off your lawn.
