ByWilI’m racing toward the deadline on my script, listening to Radio Free Burrito’s Mixtape, Volume One. I forgot how much fun I had putting that together, so I think I’ll do another one when I get some free time. I’ve been looking desperately for the final line of the script for five days now, and…

ByWilThis morning, SF Signal linked to an interview with Kevin Smith (I swear, this blog isn’t going to be all Kevin Smith, all the time) where he obliquely discusses a movie that he can’t really talk about: Host: So thumbs up on The Watchmen, what else you got? … Speaking of Kevin Smith (and, really, I swear this isn’t going to be a regular thing), Anne and I went to the opening of Crazy 4 Cult 2 at Gallery 1988 on Friday night, thanks to an unexpected invite from Jensen, who I believe is the gallery’s owner. … While you’re in the neighborhood, you can buy comics (including the new Star Trek Manga that has my story The Art of War in it, plug plug) at Golden Apple , see a show down the street at ACME , and have dinner at Bulan Thai , the best vegetarian Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to.
seventies sky
ByWilThere is so much smoke in the air right now, the sky reminds me of summers in the 70s, when we had the really nasty smog alerts for weeks at a time: it’s mostly yellow, with occasional streaks of brown, and you can taste the air whether you’re inside or out. Anne called from work…
Axis of Anarchy RULES!
ByWilWorking on The Guild was as fun and wonderful as you would expect. Every single person on the cast and crew was an absolute joy to work with, and I’m thrilled to be a small part of what I think is going to be The Guild’s breakout season
in which wil repeats some advice for actors on auditioning
ByWilIt’s a little frustrating, because I believe that my 30 years of acting experience and resume should count for something, but I’m a professional, I understand their reservations, and if the project is good enough, I’ll suck up my pride and do it, well aware that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of actors who would do anything for the same opportunity that I would never dream of complaining about in a public forum like, say, a blog. … I got the feeling from them that I’m not the guy, and I probably won’t be brought back for the producers, but the casting people were awesome, and created an environment where I felt like I was playing in front of the home crowd. … Casting people will recognize that, and even if you’re not right for this particular job, they are more likely to bring you in for other parts, because they’ve already seen you take a creative risk.

Welcome home, sir!
And hee. I got first comment for the first and last time in my life. Win.
Makes me want to watch Ridley’s Final Cut once more.
I can’t believe that I got RickRolled by Wil. I am usually so good at avoiding that. Touche!
Yeah, that RickRoll wasn’t cool, man.
thought you’d find this funny…

Forgot to mention: my entire Hardware class was informed that I got RickRolled due to my loud shout of “OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO!” when I clicked the link and saw what it was.
The experience, however, was made better by the fact that I had my laptop’s sound turned on, so the entire class got RickRolled right along with me. *cackles*
Welcome back – just got back from 10 days last night myself.
Nothing quite like the first-day-of-work comedown!
The Rickroll was funny about two Internet-years ago. You’ve been on vacation, so you get some slack. 😉
Otherwise, welcome home.
Dude, just looked at your Flickr stream from Maui. It looks just beautiful and it looks like y’all had a wonderful time. Really cool. Thanks for sharing the pics. Welcome home!
Cheers.
*jealous* Man that looks absolutely gorgeous!!
You went on vacation in… Pasadena?
What other place could possibly be that beautiful?
been a slow week without you Wil.
But I kept it real by watching a I Love The 80’s – 3D Edition on VH1 this past weekend.
I saw you in the 1986 version… Totally Awesome ( <-- 80's lingo) 🙂 Bill
Yea! you are home!
glad you had a great time:)
Though I did see you over your vacation on VH1’s “I Love The New Millenium”. You were credited as “Author/Actor” so kudos for getting the Mass Media to listen for once.
That looks like Poipu Beach on Kauai. Best vacation EVER. If that’s the place you made an excellent choice.
Welcome home, hon.^_^
Welcome back! I am assuming you checked out the new Pixies songs for Rock Band? What a great time to come home! 🙂
Welcome back! Hope you all had a wonderful time. You were missed. 🙂
Diggity den.
Jiggity Jig. Welcome back. You missed our gorgeous 110 degree weather.
Love Maui. I’ve been lucky enough to go several times over the past 20 years. In fact, my mother’s been there for the past week. She spends six weeks there every summer.
Oheo Gulch on the Hana side is amazing and worth the notorious drive. Wailea (well, the whole island) is pretty much over-developed at this point. Mama’s Fish House is a must for lunch. The Trilogy is a great day cruise to Lanai and back.
The thing I love about Maui (and Hawaii in general) is how much cleaner the air is than the mainland. You can feel it as soon as you step outside.
I’ve got a couple of Flickr sets from 2001 and 2003.
So if you were in Maui, then you must have been up pretty late watching the Lakers get beat on by the CELTICS.
WOOHOO CELTICS!
NBA Champs #17
I’m sorry that you had to leave that beautiful tropical paradise and return to the real world. Welcome back, I know you had fun!
My last comment will show you how dumb I am. Time zones in the West are earlier than the East.
So if you were in Europe, then you would be up pretty late.
Still, CELTICS wooohoo.
I got rickroll’d. Fell right into it. Sigh. Hope you are happy, Wil.
Welcome back. I’m glad you had a nice trip. Great pictures.
BTW everyone I am Brent From Sacramento, CA USA and I am new here.
Non-motivation and play is more important than work and seriousness.
If it ain’t fun, don’t do it.
Welcome back! The pics are lovely!
While you were gone, angiek got married! Y’all can see a few pics I took here: http://tinyurl.com/6py9vk
Wil’s Austin Posse (minus one) is there.
Curse you, Wheaton! Curse you and your Rick-rolling treachery!
Aw, I can’t stay mad at you. Welcome back. The internets were boring without you.
Welcome back Mr. Wheaton, in celebration, allow me to present to you a comic from way back in the day… 2006!
Nonstop Pop
Hope you dig.
I didn’t know you went to Maui. Great place to relax and have a good time.
My wife grew up there. Tonight the A’s played the Phillies and there is a player from Maui on both teams, so my wife couldn’t decide who to cheer for 🙂
We have a condo in Kihei and love to hit the beach at Kam 3. Also killer restaurants and a killer brewery: Maui Brewing Company’s CoCoNut Porter. Yummy.
That is Poipu Beach down by the Blow Hole. I hope Wil that you took the wife shopping, there is a lot of good stuff at the little shops. You lucky thing, we have a timeshare in Lihue. Only time the kids can’t come with us. A week or two with no Fuzzy Children. Tasha, Data and Will Riker go to Grandpa and Grams. I wish I could have stowed away in your suitcase.
Please tell me you took her to Gaylords for dinner??
Welcome back Wil 🙂 I look forward to more posts!
Well, by the looks of it you weren’t in England! ha
I would love to go to Hawaii, but it would be an evil flight from Birmingham (UK) to maui! Have you been to all the islands?
This is my first time on here, so hi everyone from Kai 🙂
RickRolled. I smirked.
Now, *this* is funny…

And, as a follow-up to my last comment, I talked to my mom in Maui last night for the first time since she arrived. It’s not uncommon to spot celebs on Maui since it’s a popular vacation spot and not all that big.
Before even getting a chance to mention that Wil had been there last week, she told me a story of meeting Alice Cooper and his wife and daughter over the weekend.
The even more amusing part is that both of my kids (9 and 5) were completely psyched to hear about it because they’re familiar with Mr. Cooper…from playing “School’s Out” on Guitar Hero III…And the geek universe comes full circle.
Home again, home again, jiggidy-jig! Gooood Evening, WW!
Hope you had an amazing time Wil! Nothing like a little R & R!
I’ve had my ‘Wil-fix’ by watching you on the “I Love the Millenium” shows! 🙂
Finally a photo of your boys. Nice looking young men from what I can see.
