This is the alternate universe Wesley I wanted to see in “Parallels.” Blue-eyed Data? Big deal. Bad-ass Wesley stepping on ensigns’ necks? Hell yeah!

I picked up a copy of “Happiest Days” while there, but I missed your signing(s) at the booth on Saturday — too much to see and do. Did you by chance get to see the screening of “The Gamers — Dorkness Rising” Friday night? Great sequel, and it’ll be out in August.

Oh, and 90 minutes in advance, Happy Birthday!
Watch the blog tomorrow morning for a proper B-day wish…

Awesome! Any chance of you coming to the Atlanta area for book signings? Maybe for DragonCon?

And as I see from comments above, its almost a birthday. I hope you have a good one!

I think you have a majority vote with the face fur, Wil. It suits you nicely and gives you a bad-ass masculine edge.

I saw you at the Drumbella booth, but too shy to say hi. I just bought your books instead. Keep the beard. I’m just saying.

I’m bummed that I didn’t get to stop by the Dumbrella booth while you were there, but since I missed stuff left and right, I’ll chalk it up to just being super-overwhelmed by my first con.
    Re: your twitter; Happy Birthday!!

Did she have some kind of special camera? Because I don’t think all that cool could be captured with just a regular digital job.
Happy Birthday, Wil! And may the next year be even more hawesome than the last. 😀

    I’m seriously overwhelmed.
I would like to thank the Academy of Wil’s Awesome Beard for this honor.
Also if you think that look is awesome should of seen the look I got when I said I had to get on my knees to take the shot.
Or maybe that’s what set up that look. I honestly just saw a great shot and went for it.
Being less with the jokes and more with how grateful I am; Getting to meet you, getting the book and being able to take a photo of such a cool guy (and you can scream NOT till your blue mister- I ain’t gonna buy it) was really the best birthday present I’ve ever received.
And really thanks to everyone who thinks the picture rocks.

Happy Birthday! You have brought so much joy to my life, and so many others. I hope that joy is returned to you ten-fold today! Your blog consistently moves me to call my (step) Dad and tell him how much I love, respect and admire him. The same way your very lucky kids feel, I’d reckon. Have a golden day! Natalie Donovan

Happy Birthday, Daddy-o! The South Florida Sun-Sentinel listed today as your birthday and they seem to claim that you’re just an actor. At least they spelled your name correctly (unlike a well-known website that will remain unnamed, for now). You need to come down to the Lauderdale area so you can set the newspaper straight, Mr Writer/Actor. Besides, I still owe you a Guiness. (36? Geeze – That makes me feel so damned old!)

WOW!! Never saw you with a beard — Works for you! I have to say I love the dichotomy of this picture – the rather intense expression posited against the book title 🙂
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAN! I am so crazy busy I forgot what day I was on. HAVE A GREAT ONE!!! Eat lots of cake and ice cream (or iced confection if you are vegan) and play and jump around (allowing some time to pass between the cake and the jumping) and have a darn good time!
AND…. Your listing of the lentils and kidney beans dinner plan – MMMMMMMM
I am a legume freak. I am not veg. but I might as well be – It’s how I eat most of the time. My boyfriend is NOT such a bean and tofu fan – he’s like “ahhhh Darcie food” when I present him with couscous and lentils dressed with a little olive oil, lemon juice, and basil with a big giant green salad on the side. 🙂 He always ends up liking it….
    hahah!

Happy Geek Birthday Quadrumvirate Day everybody!
Wil Wheaton, Geddy Lee, Chancellor Gorkon (David Warner) and NASA – all born on the same day.
Of course, you all know the proper way to celebrate is to sync your favorite Wil footage (TNG, Stand by Me, whatever of the Wheaton oeuvre that presently tickles your fancy) with Star Trek VI with The Right Stuff with 2112.
The effects are similar to when mixing The Wizard of Oz with Dark Side of the Moon. Only not.
Caution: May cause permanent loss of remaining “normal” friends.

Okay, I didn’t go to Comic Con, and I didn’t know it was your birthday (hope it’s a good one), but I did get my copy of Happiest Days last night and couldn’t help but read it all in one gulp. I just wanted to thank you for the stories; they were a joy to read and dredged up a lot of forgotten memories. I grew up in CA in the late 70s/early 80s, and I also thought the neighborhood in Poltergeist was just like mine. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one tossing clown dolls out of the house to fend for themselves…

My only regret from ComiCon on thursday (my only day there 🙁 ) was that I had to leave before you got there. I was really hoping to meet you and get my copy of JAG signed… Maybe next year… Then you can sign my HDoOL too. 🙂
Love the Alternate Universe Facial Hair(tm) – IMNSHO, its better than Frakes’ – his always looked *too* perfect. Like a “Just for Men” box photo. Yours has the, “I’m here to kick ass and chew bubblegum…” look. Well… maybe more like, “I’m here to kick ass and buy graphic novels”…
Don’t underestimate your coolness. If that picture were a LOL, it’d say, “coolness… I has it.”
HBD, as well. Hope it was Guinness-filled, and memorable.

Great picture and Happy Birthday, Wil!! I hope it’s a great one. Most of my family insist on having summer birthdays and then I come along in November. As a matter of fact, note to self, buy Dad’s birthday card! Anyway, enough babbling; I hope you have a great day with the family.
