50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

Did I mention that the TNG episode of Family Guy airs this Sunday?

  • WWdN in Exile

If you only have 3 minutes to spend watching an awesome video today, I hope you'll spend it watching the trailer for this Sunday's TNG reunion show on Family Guy.

I didn't get to work with any of the TNG cast when I recorded my scenes, but I just love it that we all came back to do this show.

And if you ever get a chance to work with Seth Macfarlane, TAKE IT. He's one of the most incredibly awesome people I've ever worked with.

The number of people on Twitter who didn’t know the reference made me want to cry.

That is indeed tear worthy. What has our world come to that when one of the most quotable movies of all times is not recognized?

*runs to DVR to make sure it’s set to RECORD*

I can’t wait. I love the whole “You’ll get nothing and like it.” That is going to be one awesome episode. I can’t wait to watch it then watch it again.

If I get the chance to work with Seth, I should take it? Dammit, I’ve been telling my non-existent agent to fake-ignore all this pretend-calls in the hopes of creating some invisi-press.

Hilarious…watching, DVRing, and will then watch again. Hey, can you get a recurring character gig like Patrick Stewart has with American Dad?

  13. Wil says:

I wish. Oh, how I wish I could get something like that.
I loved working with Seth and everyone on the show, and I would just *die* if I could work with them on a regular basis.

Sweet. I’m gonna get a hamburger, a cheeseburger, a hot dog, and a milkshake and sit my fat ass down for what will be the highlight of an otherwise lackluster March.

OMG! I went apeshite when I saw the trailer last evening. I’ve been sooooo looking forward to this. It was also cool that Blue Harvest was rerun later that night.

  17. szark says:
    26 March, 2009 at 11:11 am

Maybe that’s why you don’t have a regular gig — Seth doesn’t want to cause your untimely death! 😉

  18. Alan says:
    26 March, 2009 at 11:11 am

According to recent Hulu commercials, Seth is an alien. I am pretty sure that any offers to work with him would be a snare so that he could eat my brain. I find it a little bit disturbing that I would still jump at the chance. What has humanity wrought? Wake up, people! It’s people! It’s made of people!
    Hey look — shiney!

I’m purposely NOT going to watch that video. I’ve been excited about this since you first mentioned it months ago, and have been waiting in antici………………pation ever since.
It’s gonna be amazing. Wil Wheaton on an episode of Family Guy that involves the Star Trek: TNG cast? ::loses his mind::

  20. tsal says:

The only reason why the wife agreed to DVR it is because you’re in it. She hates the show. She even hates that I like the show. 🙂

I’ll definetly watch this episode, Family Guy is the funniest show on TV at the moment, but I can only watch it monday, thats when it’s available on p2p networks.
What’s your opinion on the awesome BSG finale, I’ve read a lot of people comparing it to All Good Things…
I think that it was the second best series finale ever, Sleeping In light was the best ever series finale.

Love TNG, love Family Guy… put ’em together and it’s hysterical.
So glad to hear from and see (sort of) all of you again.
Looking forward to Sunday night. Thanks for the heads up!
I got the Caddyshack thing and nearly spewed Diet Mt. Dew across the room. LOL
Now this is “must see tv”.

  24. tsal says:

It’s one of the first signs that you’re getting old.
Earlier today had a similar situation come up, different film. Someone said “Can you dig it?” and I said “Caaaan yooooou dig it?”
Only myself and someone in their mid-40s got it.
    Sigh.
    (RIFFS!)

I’ve watched the trailer three times already with my speakers cranked. I don’t care if I’ve been warned by management about inappropriate use of internet resources. I don’t care if another strike against me is grounds for dismissal. I don’t care if I have to pound the pavement looking for work in this economy. I don’t care about any of that, because there’s a TNG episode of Family Guy, and I can finally die in peace.
Okay, I’m totally gonna watch the trailer again!

  26. angie k says:

OMG. It looks like the episode is going to be even more awesome than I thought it would be (And I was sure it was going to be AWESOME). Bowling scene = EPIC. I peed a little from excitement. (Can I say that? Peed? You know, I’m just going to go ahead and say it. Peed. /Stewie voice)
This is going to be so cool!

My wife doesn’t let me watch Family Guy, or the Simpsons. But too bad. I have DirecTV and I just set up my DVR through the website to record it on Sunday. mmmwhahaha

So wrong, but yet so right.
Patrick seems like he will do pretty much anything self deprecating without any qualms. His episode of Extras was just beyond hilarious.

  32. Wil says:

As far as I know, everyone else in the cast continues to get together regularly. There were a lot of years where I felt like I was an idiot teenager when we worked together, and I was ashamed of myself and felt like I couldn’t show my face around them, so I missed out on all of that.
When I was around 24 or 25, though, I started reaching out to them when I could, apologizing for being a stupid kid, and they all told me it was cool, and I wasn’t as lame as I thought I was.
I really regret not making that effort sooner, and allowing myself to fall out of touch with so many of them.

Family Guy is hit or miss for me, but this looked awesome. Shame that everyone wasn’t in the studio at the same time. It surprises me that you all never got together much after the series aside from conventions. Can’t wait to watch the episode.

  34. SalaciousScribe says:
    26 March, 2009 at 1:01 pm

It’s a shame that you felt that way for so long. I’m glad that you were able to discover just how not lame you are, as you are in fact awesome, and for sharing that awesomeness with the world.
    Why not organize a reunion?

  35. SteamGolem says:

Man Don’t think me a dick or anything but that is awesome to hear, I mean I have done things with older people in my life. It is nice to know even in hollywood normal things happen!

    funny. ass. stuff.

  39. Russell says:

I watched the preview at work so I didn’t get to have it turned up as loud as I would have liked. I’ll watch it again at home and make sure I listen for the Caddyshack reference 🙂

  40. Russell says:
    26 March, 2009 at 1:32 pm

Yeah, I find it very cool that you and Brent occasionally talk to each other via Twitter. I don’t see you talk to LeVar, though I’m @osutuba on there (http://www.twitter.com/osutuba) 🙂

  41. Russell says:

    You go!

  42. Russell says:
    26 March, 2009 at 1:35 pm

Yeah, I like that Patrick isn’t afraid of making fun of himself. Then again, I don’t think any of the TNG cast are afraid of that.

  43. practicesmiling.livejournal.com says:
    26 March, 2009 at 1:39 pm

That trailer was epic. Now you have me wanting a “You’ll get nothing and like it!” ringtone.

  44. Russell says:
    26 March, 2009 at 1:40 pm

My brain nearly exploded at the thought of this. This will be one time where the wife will not keep me from watching “Family Guy”

  45. Russell says:

I expect to see it on Twitter 🙂

At some point in the future I’d be interested in hearing more about Seth McFarlane. I don’t know what it is about him, but whenever I see him interviewed, I get this feeling in my gut like he’s really smarmy. I know he’s *not*, and I can’t get why the way he talks makes me feel this way. Anyway, have it all set up on the DVR.

  49. Wil says:
    26 March, 2009 at 2:50 pm

He’s totally awesome. I could back that up with dozens of reasons, but they’d all be redundant. He’s just an incredibly awesome, kind, generous, humble guy with a tremendous sense of humor.
