The show was Hilarious! Patrick smacking you? Priceless.

I really enjoyed it. I can’t believe how many people from the cast came in to do this! I think you should have negotiated your pay based on how many times they said your name! That was hilarious. Had to be so weird for you hearing you name said over and over again like that.
The drive-thru scene was great too… LOVED IT!!

That was awesome! Totally geeked out through the whole episode, oh and I haven’t laugh so hard in forever.

Glad you used this scene because it cracked me up. Every TNG scene was so great, especially Patrick slapping everyone and cussing and the whole Whil Wheaton part. Be nice to Wil Wheaton!

  5. Russell says:

It was hilarious, but I was just miffed that pretty much the entirety of the TNG part of that show was on the preview on FOX.com. Now I am wishing I hadn’t watched it and just held on to the antici ………………….. pation.
Patrick smacking you was priceless, but not nearly as priceless as hearing him say, “look! I’ve got girl boobs!” While he held two bowling balls to his chest. Close second would be Patrick and Stewie arguing over the pronunciation of your name.

I think Hwil Hweaton is my new favorite actor.

  7. PJKitty says:

I love that they put that running ‘WH’ exaggeration gag that Stewie does in there…
I could go on and on and on, but I’ll just say over all it was HIlarious.

  8. Cinderella says:

I laughed my butt off harder than I have in a while.
How many times did stewie say your name!
    Awesome to see.
Brought back a lot of TNG memories.

We usually don’t watch TFG in the house with younger kids in the house – but this was appointment viewing tonight. I am curious how good at the Claw Game Wil is in real life??

I agree with Russell…I thought the TNG parts were funny but there sure was’t very much of it. I had seen just about all the trek parts on the preview. And the other story line with Meg and Brian was just not that funny.

The show was hilarious! It was wonderful seeing (or hearing) all you guys again in one place. Has it really been 15 years?

  12. Notme says:

I thought it was great to see the cast back together! Did Seth ask for any of you guys input? And how do you feel about the semi drama that is going on right now about all the God stuff in the episode? I thought the whole thing was funny and people need to relax.

  13. openid.aol.com/MSAllentown says:

I remember Wil saying that he recorded his part separately from the other TNG actors, but I wondered if the rest of the cast recorded their parts together (i.e., in the same recording studio) or separately, themselves.

Frickin’ hilarious! Soooo glad I have DVR. I could rewind and hear Patrick say, “Shut up, Wil!” and then, go through the Whil Whheaton routine with Stewie again and again! Most of it sounded pretty random, but did Seth try to take some of your personal characteristics (or, inside jokes from the set) and use them in the episode? Or, like I said, was it all pretty much random, like a lot of “The Family Guy” episodes?

  17. luv4piggy says:

I will be watching Family Guy right along beside you.
Not in the same household thou.
It was a figure of speech!
    LOL
I normally watch it on Hulu.

  18. Oleifr says:

While Family Guy is always good, this was one of my favourites. The only thing that could have made it better was for one of you to get in a fight with the chicken mascot.

  19. Russell says:
    29 March, 2009 at 7:45 pm

Oh, and the fact they took out Denise Crosby after one line? CLASSIC!

  20. woodengineer.blogspot.com says:

I loved it. Whhil Whheaton. I loved the very end as well, I can’t say I saw the Stewie cussing out session coming haha. And Shatner really got the shaft there! But of course Patrick was always better and Shatner knows it! 😀

  21. Russell says:
    29 March, 2009 at 7:46 pm

OMG! So long as it was the whole crew and it involved phaser fire!

    I particularly liked the Drive Thru bit… “I want a hamburger … no no a cheeseburger….”
    “I want a McDLT”
“NO THEY DON’T MAKE THEM ANYMORE!”
    “It could be regional…”
    Loved it, just loved it.

  24. Russell says:

Yeah, i wasn’t all that pleased with it (Meg/Bryan)

  25. Russell says:
    29 March, 2009 at 7:50 pm

Must have been over a dozen. Of course, the end of it was the best:
“Did you ever get it on with Whoopi goldberg?”
    “Constantly”
    (Paraphrasing, of course)

First there was the W(h)il W(h)eaton scene, then there was the McD’s scene. Oh my head hurts from laughing so hard. I almost passed out from laughing so hard. This episode came out of no where for me. I thought I knew Family Guy but this little gem is going to be saved.
Thank the cast of TNG, cast of Family Guy, and Denise Crosby for making me laugh tonight.

What? Did we crash twitter with 322,000 ++ responses?
I loved it, too. Oh man, so funny. “Whil hWheaton. Wil Wheaton. Why are you saying it that way?”
And hugging the teddy bear was giggle-worthy.
And I don’t know if you saw it the Hulu commercial with Seth MacFarlane. It has me mesmerized EVERY time. To hear Stewie and Peter and Brian coming out of a different face, this one guy. Blows my mind.
    Shut up Wil! *slap*
Oh did I mention? I loved it!

I really laughed at all of the Star Trek stuff. Could have and should have been longer. Boring Meg parts.
I don’t think there was a part that I did not laugh and giggle at. Just funny as could be.

As an intelligent person of faith and theology student, I was disappointed in the Meg/Brian/God subplot, and how the show set up and knocked down a strawman Christianity that isn’t the rich, compassionate, thought-provoking faith that I know and love.
However, the Star Trek bits I loved, and wished they had been the focus of the episode. I especially squee’d over the command to be nice to Wil!:-)
You all had a significant effect on my childhood. The moral dilemmas in the show challenged me to puzzle them out, and I can thank TNG for introducing me to moral questions I hadn’t thought of before. I proudly proclaimed I wanted to be Jean-Luc Picard when I grew up. (And yeah, Stewie totally stated the case for P. vs. K.!)
So, thank you, Wil. As much as parts of your time on Star Trek may have been difficult, you helped bring some good into the world that wasn’t there before. And you still do.

I’ve learned that Brent Spiner loves Chicken McNuggets, but more importantly, Michael Dorn is a great sport. Someone get him a toilet for god sakes!

  33. Russell says:

Strawman Christianity … great way to present that. I was looking for the right words and you just gave them to me.

  34. Nebraska Dave says:
    29 March, 2009 at 8:02 pm

You did a great job with this, Wil. It was extremely funny. Unfortunately, it was not the focus of the show as they wanted to make fun of born again Christians more.
I hope someone cuts all of that out and make just the Star Trek bits running one after another.

  35. suzieleigh says:
    29 March, 2009 at 8:02 pm

The show was very funny … but I would have enjoyed it more if they had more TNG and less of Meg and her mumps.

  36. J. Rabbitte says:

I was upset with that plot-line, and you’ve put into words what my rage could not convey.

If Brent comes to the Las Vegas Convention, let’s pitch in together and deliver a box of McNuggets to him on the stage…

That was fun down to the teensy details. I’ve already watched it twice. Did you all go and record the voices at the same time?
On the other storyline from the show. It appears there are some twittering Jesus peeps who are in a snit and demanding Seth MacFarlane apologize. For what, I don’t know.

  40. boxofpeanuts.blogspot.com says:
    29 March, 2009 at 8:09 pm

Exactly. That 2 minute trailer was pretty much all of the Trek stars’ screen time.

  41. J. Rabbitte says:
    29 March, 2009 at 8:10 pm

I’ll chime in to say that I was completely over-the-moon over seeing, or rather hearing, all nine of you together again. (But really, Seth McFarlane couldn’t track down Diana Muldaur for a cameo?) I would have much rather seen a half-hour of you wonderful folk spending some time with Stewie Griffin, not only because of my never-ending love of TNG but because I was insulted by the main plot. I still received an excellent time with the crew who inspired me in the first place, so I was happy for that.
There were some excellent laugh lines from the guest stars tonight; I especially liked Mr. Spiner’s call for McNuggets. Basically, I wanted more, especially since the women of TNG got about five seconds combined screen-time. More love for Mmes. McFadden, Sirtis, and Crosby! (And possibly a show for Whill Whheaton? Is that how that’s pronounced? Whill Whheaton?)

should Hwil really have ordered a cheeseburger? i thought Hwil was a vegetarian. AWESOME episode! despite the meg sub-plot, far cooler than blue harvest for geek value. 😀

  43. me.yahoo.com/dirtvoyles says:

Patrick bashing on WHil the whole time was the highlight for me. Stewie pronouncing WHil was a close second.
One of their funniest episodes, glad to see you involved.

You are going to have to change your name to Hwil Hwheaton after that episode. It was epic.
Every time I hear Patric Stewart’s voice I giggle anyway because it reminds me of the episode of Extras he did where his scripts all ended in women’s clothes falling off and trying to cover themselves “but it’s too late because I’ve seen everything.” Or when he did the Conan O’Brien where he complained about being asked if he wanted to see the captain’s log by Wm Shatner. Hee hee!

  45. jedivet says:
    29 March, 2009 at 8:26 pm

Hwil Hweaton can haz cheezburger…and a ‘shut up, Wil,’ complete with a side of smack. That was great! Thanks to all involved!

  46. Magic Whiskey says:
    29 March, 2009 at 8:29 pm

I had no issue with the whole ‘Meg’ storyline itself; I’m open to varying views of religion and beliefs, (or the lack thereof). I just wish there’d been more TNG cast time, is all!

  47. kathmuse.livejournal.com says:
    29 March, 2009 at 8:33 pm

VERY funny. I think it’s great that you all took the time to do it, although more screen time would have been a plus.
My only fear now is that, when I’m seeing Godot in June, I’ll flash back on the “girl boobs” comment and lose it completely.

I don’t normally watch Family Guy, though I have seen an episode here and there. I tuned in tonight because Whil Wheaton told me to, and I was not disappointed.
Okay, I was a little – seems like everyone but Patrick had like 2 lines today! Wah!
The best parts for me were when the dad tried on LeVar’s VISOR and when Stewie killed Denise Crosby. Both were comedy gold, IMO. Patrick was funny, but seemed to hog the screen time, which was probably deliberate.
The Megan/Brian subplot was just alright for me – I would have like to have seen more screen time given to the TNG cast, as well.
Nice voice work, Wil! Now when are you going to sell your soul and do a Disney film? 😉
