50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

this is the coolest picture you’ll see all day

  • WWdN in Exile

Well it's been a wonderfully busy week, and now it's over. I finished Big Bang Theory on Tuesday, spent much of Wednesday wishing I was still working with them, and then recorded the voice of Mr. Qubit for the IRREDEEMABLE motion comic yesterday.

Since I'm too busy to write up the stuff that needs writing up, and I really don't like those blog posts that are about not posting to your blog, I thought I'd share this incredible picture that Warren Ellis showed me:

Mr. Spock on a Buick. Hosted by imgur.com

Have a great weekend, everyone. Memories of the Future comes out next week. (I guess I probably should have lead with that, huh?)

Amazing photo my mind is all over the walls in my office. I would love to have a print of that framed and hanging in my home.

Coolest pic ever indeed. Patiently waiting for next week …

You totally made my Friday! Squee!

Vulcans prefer Buicks, as the last Vulcan Emperor (before the Coombs took over after the Great Upheaval) was known to have loved the brand.
It is only natural that Spock would gravitate to the Riviera due to it’s graceful nacelles.

So what is Spock doing in the Left 4 Dead No map by the power substation?

  8. Brian Moon says:
    2 October, 2009 at 8:23 am

I second the desire to have this as a framed print!
I’d also love to know the story behind it. When was it taken? I assume that was Nimoy’s car; did he buy it once he got signed to Star Trek, or was it his from before?

That is the perfect pic to brighten my otherwise rained out Friday.

I think I need an autographed version of this picture.

  12. clambo says:
    2 October, 2009 at 9:09 am

I’ve never had a celebrity sign anything for me. But if I was to have Nimoy sign something, it would *have* to be this, now that I’ve seen it.

  13. clambo says:
    2 October, 2009 at 9:11 am

Wil, do you have any details about this photo? Who took it? Is that Leonard Nimoy’s Buick? Were they killing time inbetween scenes?

  14. RazorBunny says:
    2 October, 2009 at 9:14 am

I only have a few autographs, all from going to DragonCon. My favorite is from George Takei – if you get a chance to meet him in person, do it. He is the nicest celebrity I’ve ever met. The douchiest celebrity I’ve ever met was also from a Star Trek series, but I won’t name names.

Yup Will that is the coolest pic I’ve seen today. Congrats on the upcoming book release, I’m looking forward to receiving my copy 🙂

Hey, you shouldn’t talk that way about Whil Wheaton. Whil Wheaton seems like a nice guy.

    Wil, et al.,
That may be the COOLEST picture ever, but I have to share with you the BEST picture ever. I hope you don’t mind.

  22. RazorBunny says:

I’m sure he would be, if he would ever get his butt out to the East Coast so I could meet him.
No, this was someone from a later series, and he was very cold to me, which was really disappointing because I used to have a really big crush on him when his show was still on the air. Everyone I met at DragonCon 2008 was nice except for him.

  23. Shawn Powers says:

Wow, stunning photo. Seriously, that’s amazing. Thanks for sharing.

This picture is actually featured in Adam Nimoy’s biography, “My Incredibly Wonderful, Miserable Life: An Anti-Memoir”. It’s a fascinating read and filled with all kinds of amazing black and white photos like this. Good stuff.

What a dichotomy. Spock with a car from far before his time, ha ha. Black and White is perfect for this picture, I absolutely love it.

Can’t decide what’s cooler – the pic or the fact that Memories of the Future is *finally* coming out!

  43. WILL CLARK says:
    2 October, 2009 at 2:40 pm

Unfortunately in the new continuity, that pic of Spock doesn’t actually exist. 🙁

  44. Wil says:
    2 October, 2009 at 2:43 pm

    Actually, that’s completely wrong.
According to the new continuity, the entire Star Trek universe we all know and love exists, unaltered, from the first episode of TOS to the last episode of Enterprise.
Spock Prime made it pretty clear to New Spock near the end that the timeline they are now in split off from the existing timeline, leaving the existing timeline intact, but giving them the opportunity to explore strange new worlds, etc.
Oh my god I am such I geek. I can’t believe I know this off the top of my head.
Wait. Yes I can. I can and it’s awesome.

  45. Sulien says:
    2 October, 2009 at 2:54 pm

No, that is the coolest photo I’ll see all month! Spock has always been my favorite of all of the Trek characters from the time I was a six year old kid watching the original series in first run. Thanks kindly for sharing that, you made an old geek’s day! 🙂

  46. WILL CLARK says:
    2 October, 2009 at 3:11 pm

LOL Yes of course.. I was being a bit facetious.. 🙂 but if you really want be chronologically correct.. it would be “from the first episode of Enterprise through to Nemesis” (but that’s being super duper picayune!!) 🙂

  47. catechronicles.blogspot.com says:

I wonder if this was the car he was driving in the Bangles video.
