50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

in which I get #VandalEyes’d

  • blog

If I were to list all the things I love about my wife, it would probably break the Internet. This post is about just one of them: her sense of humor, and the joy and whimsy she brings to our lives.

Anne loves to put googly eyes on things. About a year ago, she started this thing on Twitter called #VandalEyes, which is pretty much what it sounds like. You can see some of her favourites at her website, VandalEyes.net.

Until this week, I’ve managed to avoid being VandalEyes’d myself, but that all changed on Sunday when she looked at my awesome Captain Kirk shirt, and declared, “I have to put googly eyes on that!”

“Okay, but I’m going to be McKayla Maroney about the whole thing,” I said.

I don’t think she heard me over her excitement to make this happen:

When you see it...

After she took this, I remembered that I have an original series Star Trek phaser in my office, and, well, one thing lead to another:

VandalEyesCeption

I love that picture so much, I’m having a few prints of it made today to take to the Austin Comic Convention this weekend.

This is, in my humble opinion, further evidence to support my theory that being easily amused is what’s best in life.

I laughed! I’m a firm believer that when you are happy with your life and you getexcitedandmakethings (It’s a word now) you make someone else somewhere happy too. Thanks for doing that.

Is the ring on your right hand a Starfleet Academy class graduation ring? I hope so.

No, it’s a Miskatonic University class ring from 1928.

Clearly you need to ensure that you have some real googly eyes to put on said prints.

I love everything about this! Both pictures are just pure awesomeness!

I feel like this joke replicated on the Recursive Wheaton shirt would be epic(epic[epic{epic…}]).

…and don’t forget to bring said phaser. That way, those that get to see you in Austin can take a picture of you with said phaser and googly eyes, signing your print of you with said phaser and googly eyes imitating Kirk, with his phaser and googly eyes.

It will be like a never ending mirror. Only different.

    Well… I’m actually NOT a Dick…..
    Please believe me.
I’m almost everyday very kind, friendly, honest and almost a friendly guy.
I love animals, I do love children and I also love elders and olders.
So my only question is: do I wrong?

P.S: I do love googly eyes …. *grin*

So I’m thinking if you put something like this up for sale, somewhere on the interwebs, maybe with an option to have you sign it, perhaps some one (namely me) would like to buy one, or twelve, as they would make excellent xmas gifts/Trek CCG Prizes.

But there is something missing…hmm…something dramatic…like riding on a rocking horse or some heroic gesture like those in the movie 300 screaming:”this is [however the klingon home planet is called]”.

    just think about it 🙂

No – to crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women is the best thing in life! Or would you dare argue with Conan?!?

Yet another reason I’m frustrated that I won’t be able to make it to Austin Comic Con this weekend. I’ve still got a pair of 20 sided dice that I wanted to give to you in San Diego but never did…even though I missed on two opportunities to give them to you.

Awesome! That *might* be my favorite VandalEyes yet, which is saying something. Although, I never realized until now how much the old-style phasers look like hot glue guns.

I LOVE this picture! Now if only you could track down William Shatner and get him to sport a couple of googly eyes likes that long enough to snap a pic, the world would be perfect. LOL! Thank you for sharing that. I’ve had a horrible week and this really lifted my spirits. 😀

  43. Dave Miller says:

Aside from the whole obligatory “teh awesome!” response, I’d like to point out that it appears Wil spent just a little too much time up in Vancouver, given the spontaneous appearance of extraneous “U”s in his language.

Or was “favourites” just an homage to Mr. Shatner?

  44. Rob Pucci says:
    25 October, 2012 at 11:11 pm

    Hey guy…nice phaser….

I mean….easily amused will keep you alive longer! Where did you get that sweet shirt? I must launch an away mission to locate one ASAP.

Somewhere online. PUt the image into Google Image Search and you should be able to find the place; the name is eluding me at the moment.
