50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

I will pour you w00tstout tonight in Pasadena

  • Food and Drink

Wil Wheaton Tap TakeoverAttention Pasadena and surrounding villages! Tonight, I’m joining my friend Greg Koch for a special tap takeover at the Stone Company Store!

We’re pouring a bunch of very special and rare Stone beers (2004 Double Bastard, anyone? How about the 03.03.03 Vertical Epic?) including our very own Stone Farking Wheaton W00tstout. I’m going to get behind the bar and pour beers, and I’ll probably drink some beers, too.

It’s going to be a whole lot of fun, it’s going to benefit the Pasadena Humane Society, and Anne’s going to be there with some of our 2014 celebrity pet adoption calendars for sale and autographing.

We’re doing our thing from 6-8pm tonight at 220 South Raymond. You can take the Gold Line to the Del Mar station, or if you’ve wanted an excuse to use Uber, they’ll give new customers $20 off your ride if you use the code “PHS” when you sign up.

Oh, man! We were just there this weekend. Sounds like fun though. Be sure to shout out when you are in Denver next.

I had wootstout the other night over at Lexington Beerworks, in Kentucky. Great job guys. Wish I was home in Burbank to run over there to Pas to get some more.

I wish there were more awesome people near where I lived to do things like this. I just have two bottles of w00tstout left (since it was hard to come by where I am anyway) that I need to drink by myself.

    *whines*

It was almost impossible just to get bottles of the stuff here in Kansas City. I got two, and I’m hoarding the second one for a big event. I can’t imagine how amazing it would be on tap.

Wil – just FYI, I am saving one of the empty bottles, and someday, I’ll bring it to a convention and hopefully get it autographed. I thought about saving a full bottle, but nope, I want to drink it way too much.

Is Greg Koch related to Jim Koch of Boston Beer Company? Or are brewers just a bunch of Kochs?

They are not related, as far as I know.

Son of a… we are flying in from the Bay Area *tomorrow* to see Danny Elfman at the Nokia Theater for our anniversary. This would have been a fantastic pre-show stop.

Dude, sorry about yelling your name at you as you and Anne were walking near LA Live. I turned around and there you both were, and instead of saying, “Hey, Wil, thanks for making cool stuff that I enjoy, and thanks to both of you for all you do for animal rescue,” I blurted out “Wil Wheaton!” like I was playing some demented game of I Spy. What a nerd.

Aww man … even if I weren’t a wuss when it comes to beer, I’m serving as food on tap for a two-month old and apparently drunk babies are a no-no.

If you ever do a special roast over at Jones Coffee though, I will be all up in that like flies on rice.

I wish I could make the drive up tonight but I am on-call for work. Any chance of a similar event at either of the San Diego locations?

Sadly, I can’t make it (because I live in Canada). So I’m doing the nerdiest thing I can possibly do under the circumstances… I’m sending my mom in my stead (she lives in LA, and loves rare beers). πŸ˜‰

Good luck, and I hope you guys raise a crap-ton of money for the Humane Society. πŸ™‚

I just had a bottle of w00tStout at House4Beer in Port Orange, Florida. I loved it! I hope you guys never stop making beer!!!

Can you do this again on a weekend? It is hard to get from Orange County to Pasadena at 6 p.m.

I know you’re busier than 50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 typewriters, but after watching you work for years, and reading your recent work, I think you need to create your own version of Kevin Smith’s Comic Book Men.
No offense to Silent Bob, but you have a wit and a love of all things geek that needs to be shared in that type of forum. Besides, I watch CBM, but those guys just don’t do it for me anymore.
I’m willing to bet you could film an entire season rather quickly and I happen to know a certain bellman/blogger/struggling author who is always available…
