Two nights ago, I had this dream that I was super sick, with a sore throat and sinuses filled with concrete-like gunk. Yesterday morning, I woke up with a sore throat, and sinuses filled with concrete-like gunk.
Last night, I had a dream that I was some sort of combination of Superman and The Doctor. I could fly, I was saving the world from some bad guy who was a fallen god and wanted to choke the Earth with soot and pollution. When I woke up, I had no super powers, but I still had the sinus infection, plus I’m starting to get body aches as a bonus.
I call bullshit on this, because if one of those dreams was going to manifest itself in my real life, I got screwed.
Anyway, it’s Thursday, and that means I’m on tonight’s episode of The Big Bang Theory! I’m super proud of this one, and so happy with how my stuff turned out. Also, John Ross Bowie is back as Kripke, and he has what is, in my opinion, the funniest scene he’s ever done on the show.
I loved working with the cast and crew when we shot this show about a month ago, and I left, as I always do, grateful for the time I spent there, and so intensely envious that they get to work with each other every week.
I hope you’ll tune in tonight for the show, and I hope you enjoy it.
Now, I’m going to go take enough cold medicine to make myself believe that I have super powers, because I’m worth it.

I was similarly disappointed yesterday morning when I woke from a dream I was having, in which a dye I wanted on my favorite MMO was being sold for super cheap. I hopped online immediately and checked, but unfortunately it’s still going for millions of credits. Oh well.
Looking forward to tonight’s episode though, and hope you feel better soon!
We always enjoy you on The Big Bang Theory. Wish you were on more often.
Not really a fan of that show – I don’t think it handles women characters very well at ALL – but congrats on your appearance.
Have you tried Sinus Buster to break up the stuff in your sinuses? The only ingredient in it is capsaicin. It hurts for like 10 seconds, then sinuses open out and everything finds a way to come out lol.
It is expensive though, I get it at CVS and its like 16 bucks
Hope this helps Wil
I love it when you’re on BBT. The writers seem to kick it up another notch for those episodes.
I was on the Warner Bros tour around a month ago as you were coming out of the two and a half men set. Loved the Mini Cooper, reminded me of being back home #britishcar
I’m sure you’ve already seen this, but if not… enjoy and Merry Picard-mas!
get well, wil wheaton
You should watch it tonight while Anne rubs in Vapo-Rub in a clockwise motion and sings Soft Kitty.
Will be great to see my 2 favorite recurring characters in the same episode! Though it will be hard to beat “Game over, Moon Pie” or when Kwipke tried to use Siri…
Have you seen this?

I knew Captain Picard had a festive side!
I had a dream that my incredibly aloof cat was actually being nice to me and snuggling with me. Then I woke up. Then he started biting my arm. As usual. Damn cat.
Oh right, and Wil, if you take Alka Seltzer Plus orange flavoured fizzy stuff along with Nyquil, you’ll sleep like a baby and wake up all better! 😀
We have a “shut up, Wesley!” drinking game every time you’re on BBT – thanks for the heads up, I need to hit the liquor store. There’s no end to our love for Wesley and Kripke and Comic Book Store guy!
Im really enjoying your work. Your a great addition to BBT.
You’re probably my favorite supporting character on the show. You’re always funny without even trying.
Funny, I found this blog because I seen Wil on the show talking about “Board Games.” So I googled “Wil Wheaton Board Games” while watching the show.
Perhaps this means I am one of the 50,000 monkeys on 50,000 laptops sitting in front of a TV?
Wil, you are always so genuine when you’re playing yourself. 🙂
My best and happy holidays.
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur…
Seriously though, get well soon. Being sick sucks. Tonight’s episode was awesome!
Lol! Loving tonight’s episode – you are always a great addition to the show! 🙂 Feel better!
Loved tonight’s episode and your scene with Sheldon was just amazing. <3
Tonight was one of the few times I was able to watch Big Bang. I am usually working when it is on. I did not know you would make a special appearance. I honestly admit you look nothing like the kid I watched on TNG, but still as handsome as ever. I enjoyed watching you grow up on TNG. Truly loved seeing you again. Hope to see more of you in the future.
love you on the big bang theory
What a terrific show and you made it extra special yet again. Hope to see you again in another episode soon. Hope people know what a nice guy you are. Hey people he was super nice to my grandaughter at Comic Con this past summer!
Best of luck on your way to recovery. I enjoyed this episode tonight! Do more stuff with Chris Hardwick.
It was an awesome episode! The whole family loved it! Good on you!
I was so excited when I saw you were on the show!! Those are my favorite episodes of that wonderful show. You/your scene was fantastic!
Today’s appearance was phenomenal.
Thanks.
So sorry you aren’t feeling well, Wil! I too woke up this morning with the sinus gunk! Here’s hoping your right as rain very soon. Looking forward to watching tonight’s episode of TBBT, had to work so I missed it!
Cool! I haven’t seen the episode yet, but I always look forward to seeing you there. Wow, this day is starting out great! First, I hear about your (yet to be announced to the general public) contribution to a really wonderful project. Then I come here to leave a message and find out you’re on The Big Bang Theory again. And I found out about TableTop today (sorry for having missed that before) and I love it. What a great start to the day! Thanks for being so awesome!
You do understand that if your dream of superpowers were the one to come true, there would be a fallen god choking the world with pollution, too, right?
Feel better, get rest, and do not pass it back and forth like my wife and I have been doing for the past month.
I DVR’ed it (like I always do) and went to a gaming event. We enjoyed a few games of “7 Wonders” and “Castellan”. When I got home a little before midnight, I fed the dogs and sat down to watch it. When it was over, my sides were hurting (and my dogs were looking at me funny). I find it extremely amusing that your character is…well…you. I mean, I read or listen to actors (including yourself) talk about how they prepare for a part or get into the character, but I must ask, how do YOU get into the head of your character when your character is YOU?! Granted, I believe the writers give you a little more of the “neutral evil” alignment, but there is still some good in you too.
Get some rest and feel better.
Jim
You’re not a Sheldon when you’re sick, are you, Wheaton?
Either way, get well soon, buddy!
I love your character on BBT. And you knock it out every time you are there.
Well done.
I always look forward to seeing you on BBT!
When you were on Sheldon’s enemies list, it was awesome!
The episode from last night I found especially good since I have been listening to your audiobook. It was a lot like the process that you went through becoming an adult. Maybe it is a point where the Sheldon character can see that he needs to grow up. I would hate to see that happen. But you where awesome.
Thanks!
So, what happened to the Evil Wil Wheaton? You seemed to be playing yourself last night rather than the twisted version of you that has appeared in previous episodes. Have they dropped that premise from the show?
OK, I’ve gotta ask: your dialog in last night’s episode seems like it came right out of a blog post, or something in one of your books – it reflected what you’ve been writing here about how you feel about TNG, growing up, being an author, etc.. So, which one of these is true:
1) you wrote your own character’s dialog?
2) the writers read this blog and wrote in “your voice?”
3) the writers told you what they were looking for and you improvised?
4) the writers wrote the dialog and, by an amazing coincidence, it exactly mirrors what you’ve been saying around here for the past months/years.
(Hint: I’m pretty sure it’s not #4)
Feel better, and thanks for another great show…
-Brian
I wondered those questions, too. When he was reciting the litanies from the past I was saying, “that’s true” and “yeah, that happened, too.” All that was missing was alt.wesley.crusher.die.die.die.
Will Wheaton responds!

(Answer: Halfway between 1 and 2)
@Bryan Boyles: I like the cut of your jib, and your theories intrigue me. What more can you tell us about your new graphic novel?
DISCLAIMER: I’m not a comic nerd, to my chagrin, so I’m not sure if this is an existing premise, and my phone is too slow to effeciently use my Google-fu.
Wil, after your lines in Big Bang, thought you’d like to know, if you don’t already, of a brief but quite flattering reference in Ernest Cline’s great novel “Ready Player One.” It’s near the end, not sure of the page, and I’ll let you read it for yourself. Keep up the great work, you’re an icon to nerds like me.

Your cameo was awesome. Really enjoyed this weeks episode. Good job! Hope you comeback for more. Your cameos in the Big Bang are always my favorite episodes.
I really enjoyed your performance on BBT last night! It was so endearing! You play endearing and downright evil equally well. I’d love to see you play a recurring supporting character on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Perhaps a new nemesis for Dennis…
You were “you” on the episode. It was nice to see the personal side come through and reach out to a “character”.
I would love to know where the t-shirt Wil was wearing on this BBT episode came from. My usual Googling isn’t yielding results.
Try penny arcade.
Taylor H., I’m pretty sure Mr. Wheaton is aware of the reference to him in Ready Player One since he actually reads the audiobook (which makes that bit even more meta).
Always a pleasure to see you on that show. Feel better!
you should be on there more often… though it was weird seeing you all nice… and who could hate Wesley Crusher? people just be jealous…
well couldnt wait for it to show in the UK, so good on you for setting yourself up for taking the pee out of yourself
Was a fun episode! I really enjoy your interaction with Amy, and laughed out loud and your face when she said, “We’re actually trying to cheer him up”!
*AT your face, even. Sheesh, typing!
My gf was a huge fan of BBT so to humor her I watched it once. Don’t remember what episode it was, but I thought it was stooooopid. Couple of years ago (and maybe a year after my one episode) I saw a commercial on TV and thought “ZOMG, Will Wheaton AND Brent Spiner on BBT! I’ve GOT to watch that!” and I’ve been hooked ever since, and I firmly believe that revenge IS a dish best served cold!
I enjoyed your scene on BBT. I agree with the Sheldon character Wesley was one of my favorite characters on STNG. Did you have any input into the writing of the scene? I especially felt the part where BBT-Wil W. talked about his past experience with Wesley haters came across as genuine and personal. I thought it was well done, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to more BBT-WW, and Tabletop episodes.
Thank you for enriching our lives and culture.
I hope you’ll feel better soon! Love BBT and would like to see you on the show more often. Your blog’s interesting too 🙂
Saw you reviewing on Goodreads, which led me here. I felt disloyal to Sheldon just typing in the url. I know that you SAY that he and you are now friends, but…I’m biding my time, waiting for the real Wil Wheaton to say BAZINGA.
Always enjoy your interactions with Sheldon!! You two play off each other so well. LOVED the t-shirt! Is it available? All your t-shirts are cool. Whoooooze your supplier? I’m in the throws of a weird cold, too. Feels like Elmers glue in my head. Ain’t life grand?
