50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

fitter, happier

  • blog

Taking walks, by myself and taking walks with Seamus and Marlowe.

Exercising several times a week.

Keeping close track of what I’m eating and drinking.

Caring for my physical and mental health.

Reading more books.

Taking pictures.

Writing jokes.

Cleaning up after myself.

Holding hands with my wife.

Sitting with my therapist and talking it out.

Fitter, happier, more productive.

I still miss my dog.

All of these things help time pass. I would add great literature. BTW thanks for the Ready Player One narration! It is getting me through days of painting. It is making me actually enjoy the laborious hours. You need to narrate more books!

Think about all the fun times you had and then create new experiences with the loved ones you still have!

You probably always will, but over time the memories will change from bitter and sad, to the fun and goofy loving things you did together that made your dog yours.

Thus it is with everything that passes before we take our own turn in the mists of others memories. Those that go before us are remembered by us, as we are remembered by those that come after.

Take what solace you can in the memories. It is the greatest gift we give each other.

I’m super late on this but I went through the same thing with my buddy of 13ish years last Easter and I know exactly how you feel so I just wanted to pass my virtual hugs to you!

I always think of the track from Radiohead’s “ok computer’ whenever I hear that term. 🙂
