I slept for 11 hours last night

  • blog

I didn’t realize I was even that tired. I’m lucky, that I got to sleep until my body decided that it’d had enough rest and was ready to wake up.

Of course, the day is half over and I haven’t done anything, but that’s what happens when you sleep for eleven hours.

Thanks for another post letting me know it’s not just me. And to know to honor my body for taking care of me. Thanks, Wil!

Sometimes your body needs it. This country idolizes lack of sleep and exhaustion. Take a day every so often.

Inconcievable! I’m lucky to get 6 hours uninterrupted.

    Brother Wil,
As a lifelong nerd that had almost given up, I was recently “reintroduced” to the joys of gaming through TableTop. I would like to take this platform as an opportunity to set the record straight on a few things. First, thank you for your podcast, your work on TableTop and all that you do. I honestly don’t think you realize just how many lives you’ve touched and things you’ve done to bring joy to millions. We started as fans, but we are more like family now…and not in a creepy stalker way.

I’ve been listening to the podcast recently and have really enjoyed learning more about what you’ve been through and the struggles you faced. As a creative person willing to open your life to the public and unashamedly put yourself on the chopping block for what you believe in, you have become our vicarious champion, fighting against the herds of trolls, doubters and joy-killers with nothing better to do but to try to shame others.

I’m so grateful, not just for the doors you open, but honestly, for the lessons you provide. You have an ability to be yourself and your authenticity and general non-dickness shines through everything you do and is an inspiration. I doubt you are aware of the butterfly effect your actions have.

A few months ago I was in a dead end, stressed about my career, my relationship, my health. Through your choices, I’ve been inspired to play a game with my family for the first time in years, plan a game night for my friends, and am even developing a game of my own, hoping one day to return some of that joy to others. It may lead to a totally different career path for me, but even if it doesn’t it has given me something I desperately needed – HOPE. It’s an ever-widening cyclone of awesomeness with you at the heart. And behind all that, there you are, playing with sounds, sharing your thoughts, opening doors, rebooting your life, trying new games and balancing a career with a beautiful family. Don’t go looking for success, you seem to have found it.

I heard about the negative people you mentioned in your podcast. Don’t worry about the haters. They add zero value and trust me, more of us are on your side than theirs. Glad you got some well-deserved rest. It ain’t easy bein’ a superhero. Keep up the good work.

Now you’re just showing off. OK, not really. Your body needed it. But you’d better not make a habit of this mister!

Wake up and smell the roses, brother !
Here’s a toe-tapper for you to get your juices flowing.

    Hope you’re doing great, Wil.
    Beautiful day on Memphis.
Think I’ll put the top down on the Volvo and go for a milkshake.

Getting an opportunity like this is a good thing-this goes along with all the other things you are doing to reboot this year!

luv the blog: brilliant…sleep and food 2 things humans/humanoids must have every 24 hour cycle…some exceptions but within 72 hours max one must have sleep/ food to continue to function etc…your writing talent might possibly be directed to a short-story/novella aboot a humanoid that does not require sleep, and has many adventures in the night etc…just a thought my friend…

You have lost weight and it shows on your face. I think you’re a great guy, and I hope you’re doing allright.

I’m currently in a mild depression, stemming primarily from having too much time on my hands and then self-shaming my lack of productivity or motivation. But my sleep is on track, which is how I know I’m not in a deep depression.

Every so often, our bodies will DEMAND more sleep or better food or different activity. It’s always a good thing to listen to those demands. Glad you were able to get that catch-up!
