I feel like trailers show us way more than they need to, but maybe that’s just because I’m old and set in my ways. I do my best to avoid them, but I was super excited to see this one before Rogue One last night. I love Guardians of the Galaxy so much (It’s my favorite of all the Marvel movies, and maybe my favorite movie in its genre of all time), that I was bouncing in my seat and clapping my hands the whole time for this one.
Nothing about the plot is given away in this. It’s just the characters we love doing the things that make us love them, so if you’re a trailer avoidance aficionado like me, you’re probably safe. Here’s the trailer at YouTube. It’s also embedded below:
So if you watched it, what do you think?
Loved it! Can’t wait to see what Baby Groot gets me giggling about! Also, MORE DRAX!!!!
I think I’m clearly supposed to push the button.
I avoid trailers too. Thanks for letting me know this one is pretty safe. I might be brave and take a peek. 🙂
Never saw the first one, but I might put it on the list. This looks like fun, and baby Groot is adorable af.
af!
Absolutely wonderful how “I am Groot” can be said with so many meanings. Baby Groot getting his roots on was fupping awesome and the warming up of Drax ribbing Starlord over his darkest secret, as well as lovecraftian-esque beasts, starship battles and pretty much the rest of it all brought a big smile. And the soundtrack! Love it 🙂
Yup. me too… I mad a screen accurate outfit of Star Lord to visit children with cancer at UCSF and Family House in San Francisco. Nail on the head, this trailer only makes me more eager for this one to come out!
I feel the exact same way about the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I’d seen other Marvel movies, but that one was the gateway for me to really, really love them. I’ve been so excited about the sequel since James Gunn stated talking about writing it on Periscope. I don’t know exactly what it is about the Guardians movie that made it so utterly perfect, but the second one seems to be more of the same. The first trailer I saw was the teaser before the Dr. Strange movie and I had to say to the person sitting next to me how much I love Guardians because I was so excited by it. The full length trailer is even better. It was great to see more of Rocket being Rocket. I can’t wait until May.
Two words – BABY GROOT!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, I’m so excited for this. The trailer is awesome.
I am Groot.
Can I haz soundtrack, pleez?
“Fox on the Run” by Sweet.
I don’t go to movies as often as I’d like, but even so, I feel inundated with Rogue One trailers everywhere I look – commercials, Facebook, Twitter, websites, etc. I was able to see The Force Awakens spoiler free THREE WEEKS after it was out (believe me, that was HARD). Don’t get me wrong, I’m sooooooooo excited to see Rogue One, but feel like I’ve seen a lot of the crucial bits from the movie.
When the trailer for GOTG came out, I was mildly disappointed that it didn’t show anything from the movie, but then I thought, wait…what great anticip

Actually, a lot of stuff that’s in the trailer for Rogue One isn’t in the movie.
“SCREW YOU SPACESHIP!!!” <– awesome
The trailer showed us explosions, spaceships going pew-pew, teenage humor, a band of misfits saving the galaxy. No spoilers. 🙂
Groot is my spirit animal.
I’m am also not a fan of trailers. You are not wrong. This is trailer perfection. The characters are the movie. I’m already in love with this film AND the soundtrack. Oh, and Baby Groot!! EEE!
I was in the theatre to see Dr Strange (hsve you seen dr str??? If not, hie thee hence! so awesome!! Ok, I have gushed enough, nowhrre wad I?…) and all I had to hear was the music and I knew what the trailer was for: (Big Goofy Grin Bounces)
Can’t Wait……..
This trailer is fantastic. Guardians of the galaxy is one of the only movies i will watch over and over. Also, I really enjoy you posting little things every day. Thanks for that.
I always fast-forward through television trailers, averting my eyes saying “don’t show me the show before I see the show!” In a movie theater though, the trailers are usually far enough out that I’ll forget what I’ve seen by the time the movie comes out but still have a sense of “I wanted to see this.”
For me the first GoG succeeded because there were no jokes – the comedy proceeded straight from the characters being their characters. Looks like the second one is following suit.
You are so right about this trailer! I came late to the party about Guardians of the Galaxy. In fact, I saw it for the first time on the Cruise. Now I just love it and I know I’m going to love this next one!
I thought it was very good and I’m excited to see the movie!
All I had to hear was “Fox on the Run” and this went on the GOTTA SEE list.
ROFLMAO! Just watched the trailer. I can’t wait ’til this comes out. (…”You must be so embarrassed! Do me, do me!” laughs)
I love this trailer so hard! Thanks for sharing this piece of pure joy with us, since we need all that we get right now. Keep on keepin’ on the Quest to Be Awesome!
I loved the first movie, it easily moved onto my favorite movies list. Can’t wait for volume 2.
I avoid trailers so I don’t see all the good bits before I watch the film. I am happy to say I still haven’t seen a single trailer for Rogue One, and I’m watching it tomorrow. This trailer wasn’t too spoilery, and I had fun, in fact I laughed out loud. Thanks for watching it for me first, and food tastering it for spoilers.
I’m not a big fan of comic book movies in general, but I do love Guardians of the Galaxy. When I first saw the trailer for the second movie, I was like “WHEE! YAY!” because I was just so excited.
SO ready to see both of these movies!
I love GotG, but this trailer worries me. I really, really, really hope that they are NOT GeorgeLucasing this sequel. I’m seeing way too much uber-cute Baby Groot in this trailer. The first trailer made the movie look much better, though.
The humor and the music are great, of course, but what really struck me when I first saw this trailer are the colors and the composition of the shots. So many frames could be panels straight out of a comic book! It may be the most comic book-y of the comic book movies.
I also clapped my hands and bounced in my seat. The stranger next to me gave serious side eye. Is it summer yet???!!!
I. Am. GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! Bwahahaha! Can’t wait!
As a fan of comic book/superhero MOVIES but not necessarily a reader of the source material, I go to see these films with minimal foreknowledge. Like you, I loved GotG the best in that series, and I fell in love with Baby Groot at the end of that one, of course. CANNOT WAIT for ep 2. Cannot. Wait.
We Are Groot!
