home again, home again

Rainbow
Well, we’re back from vacation. I’m still not motivated to do much of anything except look at pictures and listen to surf music, though.

I can’t believe that I got RickRolled by Wil. I am usually so good at avoiding that. Touche!

Forgot to mention: my entire Hardware class was informed that I got RickRolled due to my loud shout of “OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO!” when I clicked the link and saw what it was.
The experience, however, was made better by the fact that I had my laptop’s sound turned on, so the entire class got RickRolled right along with me. *cackles*

Welcome back – just got back from 10 days last night myself.
Nothing quite like the first-day-of-work comedown!

The Rickroll was funny about two Internet-years ago. You’ve been on vacation, so you get some slack. 😉
    Otherwise, welcome home.

been a slow week without you Wil.
But I kept it real by watching a I Love The 80’s – 3D Edition on VH1 this past weekend.
    I saw you in the 1986 version… Totally Awesome ( <-- 80's lingo) 🙂 Bill

Though I did see you over your vacation on VH1’s “I Love The New Millenium”. You were credited as “Author/Actor” so kudos for getting the Mass Media to listen for once.

That looks like Poipu Beach on Kauai. Best vacation EVER. If that’s the place you made an excellent choice.

Love Maui. I’ve been lucky enough to go several times over the past 20 years. In fact, my mother’s been there for the past week. She spends six weeks there every summer.
Oheo Gulch on the Hana side is amazing and worth the notorious drive. Wailea (well, the whole island) is pretty much over-developed at this point. Mama’s Fish House is a must for lunch. The Trilogy is a great day cruise to Lanai and back.
The thing I love about Maui (and Hawaii in general) is how much cleaner the air is than the mainland. You can feel it as soon as you step outside.
I’ve got a couple of Flickr sets from 2001 and 2003.

So if you were in Maui, then you must have been up pretty late watching the Lakers get beat on by the CELTICS.
    WOOHOO CELTICS!

I’m sorry that you had to leave that beautiful tropical paradise and return to the real world. Welcome back, I know you had fun!

  25. 1BigBank says:

My last comment will show you how dumb I am. Time zones in the West are earlier than the East.
So if you were in Europe, then you would be up pretty late.
    Still, CELTICS wooohoo.

I didn’t know you went to Maui. Great place to relax and have a good time.
My wife grew up there. Tonight the A’s played the Phillies and there is a player from Maui on both teams, so my wife couldn’t decide who to cheer for 🙂
We have a condo in Kihei and love to hit the beach at Kam 3. Also killer restaurants and a killer brewery: Maui Brewing Company’s CoCoNut Porter. Yummy.

That is Poipu Beach down by the Blow Hole. I hope Wil that you took the wife shopping, there is a lot of good stuff at the little shops. You lucky thing, we have a timeshare in Lihue. Only time the kids can’t come with us. A week or two with no Fuzzy Children. Tasha, Data and Will Riker go to Grandpa and Grams. I wish I could have stowed away in your suitcase.

Well, by the looks of it you weren’t in England! ha
I would love to go to Hawaii, but it would be an evil flight from Birmingham (UK) to maui! Have you been to all the islands?
This is my first time on here, so hi everyone from Kai 🙂

And, as a follow-up to my last comment, I talked to my mom in Maui last night for the first time since she arrived. It’s not uncommon to spot celebs on Maui since it’s a popular vacation spot and not all that big.
Before even getting a chance to mention that Wil had been there last week, she told me a story of meeting Alice Cooper and his wife and daughter over the weekend.
The even more amusing part is that both of my kids (9 and 5) were completely psyched to hear about it because they’re familiar with Mr. Cooper…from playing “School’s Out” on Guitar Hero III…And the geek universe comes full circle.
