50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

a message for you rudy (the undead hound)

Episode sixseven of the D&D podcast is online, and it’s my favorite one, so far.

It starts with a scream. It continues with a battle standard being planted (augmented with another scream). And it ends with archers perforating Binwin… and Jim Darkmagic struggling to regain consciousness.

In this episode, Acquisitions Inc. learns the benefit of pushing undead things off ledges. And we, the audience, hear the sound of a dwarf standing up.

Does playing more D&D increase your skill with rolling dice? Does 19 work for you? Do you remember Rudy the Undead Hound? Let’s find out….

A lot of people have asked me where this adventure came from. It was designed by Chris Perkins, and I understand that it will eventually be released, probably in Dungeon.

Edited to add: You need to see the Witchalok. For the love of Rudy, you need to see the Witchalok.

“And we spoke of the things which Steve would endorse, and revile”

It's one of those weeks where all my creative energy and time is going into projects that pay the bills, so posting here will remain light for at least the next few days, and probably a bit longer.

However, this post my friend Cherie wrote about the First Church of the Intergalactic Fruitbat Steve was so funny, I couldn't not link to it.

whenever i type “lions,” i have to make sure i haven’t accidentally typed “loins”

A friend of mine showed me the most awesome picture of a little Voltron toy I think I've ever seen. It had lions for hands.

This bounced around in my head for a moment, and I shared my great wisdom with Twitter, thusly:

Voltron with Lions > Voltron with vehicles. THIS IS SCIENCE AND YOU CAN'T ARGUE WITH SCIENCE. (and now, pot stirred, I'm back to work.)

This screenshot from Twitteriffic (with bonus Memories of the Future edit in the background) illustrates one of the reasons I just love using Twitter. These replies are captured exactly as Twitteriffic displayed them to me:

Lions vs vehicles qft

Okay, now I'm really going back to work.

goalies gone wild

This seems like an appropriate way to finish the week.

And, speaking strictly as a goaltender, I can say with a completely straight face that every single one of these goalies was entirely justified and did nothing wrong. Ever.
