in which nathan fillion sweeps anne wheaton off her feet

When I finished one of my photo ops in Ottawa, Nathan Fillion was doing one of his in the photo area next to mine. Anne was with me, and I know that she loves him as much as I do, so I grabbed her hand and ran with her into Nathan’s line.

I walked over to Nathan, and said to him, so Anne couldn’t hear, “Would you literally sweep her off her feet?” He laughed and said he would. Then he turned to me and said, “And you stand here, and look sad.”

So I did and this happened:

That's my guy holding my gal!
That’s my guy holding my gal!

My internal dialog at this moment is: “I wish Nathan Fillion would sweep me off my feet.”

Nathan Fillion is as kind and funny and charming and friendly as you think he would be. We’ve sort of become friends, and that makes me so happy; he’s really good people.

  1. I sense a great disturbance in the Internets…as if millions of geeky voices just went, “SQUEEEEEEEE!”

Seriously, that is awesome. Anything involving Nathan Fillion is automatically cool, and, since you were already cool, that makes you cool squared.

  2. Awww.. I should’ve waited in line to get some autographs. Ottawa was my first con ever and those line-ups looked very very long, now I have regrets.

  3. My internal dialog at this moment is: “I wish Nathan Fillion would arrange for Wil to appear as Evil Wil Wheaton who would be joining the Evil League of Evil in the sequel to Dr. Horrible. Because that would be awesome.”

  4. I smell a new sci-fi series. Mal Reynolds vs. Wes Crusher, two erstwhile space explores, vie for the affections of Anne, Princes of Earth. Get me some popcorn and beer, this oughta be good.

  5. I work in television and have met a few actors (and producers and writers) but meeting Nathan Fillion was the highlight of my career. He is absolutely the nicest guy ever. (Of course I haven’t met Wil yet :)

  6. I always suspected Fillion is awesome, and have heard several reports to that effect. I guess most people in the Whedon/Wheaton universe are. ;)
    Great photo.

  7. It’s always a pleasure working with you Wil, and it was nice to finally meet Anne. This is one of my favorite shots from the Ottawa ComicCon. I look forward to seeing you at the next PhotoOps, whenever that may be.

    Cheers,
    Al
