50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

Cough revisited

  • blog

An 8×10 sale update!
The photo lab finished printing my order this morning, so all the 8x10s have been mailed out, except for about 6, for people who haven’t told me what to sign on their pictures.
So if you’ve ordered, but you haven’t sent me your request, get on it, man! ๐Ÿ™‚
Anything going out after today clearly won’t arrive in time for Christmas, but if you’ve been waiting to order, and it’s not a gift, go ahead and do it. I have about 50 of each photo left after filling orders, and if those sell out, I’ll order more in the new year.
I’ve gotten sick, it would seem, despite my best efforts to hold off the cold which is ravaging my family right now.
Since I’m feeling like crap, I’m putting off the last-minute shopping until REALLY the last minute, and I’m spending my time the last couple of days heavily editing my book.
I gotta tell you, I’m really excited, and getting nervous. Excited, because my editor, Andrew, has given me notes that fall into two categories: “Duh. I am so lame for missing that.” and “Holy crap! This is such a great idea! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that on my own!” His notes have made the book much more readable, and clearer than it would have ever been if I’d done it all on my own.
Nervous, because as it gets closer and closer to being released to Real Life Readers, I worry that it just isn’t good enough. This is normal, though, for me. It happens with everything creative that I do. I guess it’s just my nature.
Back to work!

Okay, that made very little sense without this:

Okay, not to sound like a grinch or anything but…if people can buy the personalized photo for 35 bucks, then I’m sure glad it wasn’t me who bid $300-500 for the same thing! Anyway, can’t wait for the book.

Thanks, Wil. I wasn’t sick until I read your latest entry- now I’ve got your cold. I’ve heard about computer viruses, but this is ridiculous! Tell you what, I’ll make you a deal- I’ll send you get better vibes if you send me some too. Deal? All right, Wil, feel better- and that goes for any of you monkeys that aren’t well. I hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Wil,
I can’t tell you how absolutely great I think it is to be able to come here and get a glimpse on your life. When I was in high school and you and I were both old teenagers or young adults, I was at a Con in California when you were there – I believe it may have actually been the “Problem with Wesley” panel, as I recall you entering half way or two-thirds through the panel from the back of the room, and me saying, “No way,” as I bounced up and down happily in my aisle-seat. As one of the only girls, if not the only girl, in a gaggle of Sci-Fi guys, who made the road trip from Phoenix to California for the Con, I can tell you it made my trip and it’s easily my most memorable Con panel experience.
Yeah, I had a real thing for ya back then – you were my own personal Sci Fi TV hottie. Woo!
I didn’t actually get to meet you, or shake your hand, but wish I had. Now, I feel like I get to shake your hand on a daily basis.
Not today, please, I’d rather not catch your cold… my recommendation is zinc. Take it, suck zinc lozenges, get the OJ with zinc added. It’ll knock it right out of you.
And then the naturopath in me will continue with saying, rose hip tea, and garlic, will also ease your pain.
Take care of yourself, great luck with the book, and thanks again for giving us a glimpse into your day-to-day. You won’t mind if a 32 year old woman swoons for you every now and again, will you? ๐Ÿ˜‰
    You rock.
    Chellie

    Hey Wil,
I just wanted to take a second to say that I’m quite impressed with your site. I used to be a big fan of Wesley, and always enjoyed the movies you were in, however I was very suprised to see you on TechTV a few weeks ago doing Screen Savers. I caught the plug for your web site, and have found myself checking almost every day to read some of the new posts from both yourself as well as some of your fans. Because of this, I think I might just even buy your book when it comes out. If the book is as captivating as many of your posts have been, I’m sure it will do just fine. Take Care.
    Joe

    Wil,
I am sure the book will Rock. You are an extremely talented individual. I look forward to seeing it on the shelves and purchasing it for myself. This cold thing really bites, do the Vit C thing and get better.
AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and your family!!!

Major mega empathy here. The bug du jour is positively shitful; talking about how hard I coughed yesterday would be TMI of the sort I save for my own journal. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Cold-Eez rocks, and I must drag my contagious ass down to the store and get more.
And you should have known you wouldn’t escape; I have yet to meet the family that doesn’t share everything in that respect. Take care, keep warm, and try to enjoy Christmas dinner, even if you’re so stuffed up you can’t taste anything.
