Here’s a quick update on I, Robot:
They put about 100 actors on tape last week. 20 of those tapes were sent to the director, including mine. He will pick a few he likes, and have meetings with them this week or next.
Wish I had more info, but that’s it. Strangely, I’m not sitting here, stomach in knots, agonizing over whether I’ll get it or not. While I would love to work with Alex Proyas (I am a HUGE Dark City weenie) and play a robot, I don’t have the life-or-death feeling that used to accompany auditions.
And as far as I know, they didn’t see anyone from Jimmy Kimmel’s family.

A movie called “The Buddy System” staring a young Wil Wheaton plays Sunday the 26th at 7:30AM (Pacific) on the cable channel AMC.
Wil, is this a thumbs up or down? Worth waking up early on a Sunday? (I’d never heard of it until I was browsing the guide a few minutes ago)

I do realize that my actions have left you and your fans feeling a bit confused, yet I have not come for forgiveness. I just wanted to let you know that one of my trusted associates saw you use the bathroom (#2) prior to when you tried to shake my hand. You had a case of stink fist me boy! Saw Dark City last night — very cool flick. A nice blend of Nosfuratu/Borg with the “Strangers” and I dig Jen Connelly was a bluesy sexy in the lounge singing scenes. Other than Keifer’s asthmatic delivery, I enjoyed each of the primaries in it and the sets were great — very po-po-po-mo, if you know what I mean.
I heard you on NPR last night as part of a “Child Actor” series. Very cool to have you on the car radio as I drove home sice you are on my web browser at work every day.
Just one burning question: have you see your old buddy Corey Feldman on the Surreal Life? He is making such an ass of himself that it would have to give you some measure of glee.

In Trek X Wesley is wearing a starfleet uniform and the novel says that he’s now on the Titan with the grade of a Lieutenant.
But how could we explain his change of mind? Remember: In “Journey’s End” Wesley dropped his uniform to “travel” around through the universe…

Granted I haven’t read the book, but I thought Wes had only 1 pip on his uniform in the movie. I shrugged it off since he was granted the rank of full ensign in “Menage a Trois” and, as a Traveller, one presumes he can dress any way he wants.

“dark city” was AWESOME!…if “i robot” is a film that quality we could be looking at sequels…and as i remember…some of the robots are in more than one of the FOUNDATION books.

Anyway, I mosied on over to imdb and left a comment on the I, Robot board about how I hoped you got a part in the film. Then I saw some one else’s post enlightening me that Alex Proyas has his own website located at:

So I checked it out and he has a forum there that is similiar to the soapbox where he reads and responds to posts. Surprise, surprise, your posse had already been there and asked him about you.
And I must say he was very professional and respectful about his response:
“It would be extremely unprofessional for me to post any information on this site about someone’s audition, even though Mr Wheaton has made no secret of the fact he has read for I ROBOT. So sorry, wish I could tell you more.”

I’m sorry to hear about the audition for “On the Road.” I just finished reading it about three days before you posted on your audition. It’s an excellent book and you’d make a better Sal than anyone else. Certainly not a Dean Moriarty, you’re too good for something like that.
I seriously cannot say how absolutely excellent you are. I’ve been reading your blog for over one year and I’ve always liked Weseley on ST:tNG. I can identify with you exceedingly well having gone to college for a degree in art history and now doing technical support for an Internet Service Provider. You do exceedingly well for yourself in proving you have grown beyond Weseley through accepting him. I admire you in your quest to become a more complete person for accepting your past and previous image. That takes Sack. Preach on Brother Wheaton. Preach on.
Looking forward to your upcoming release. Of course, since I’m presently in Taiwan, I’ll have to rip a pirated copy off the net, ‘cuz it won’t be available here any other way.

The Will Smith vehicle is here for a 22-week shoot starting in April.

I was on Win Ben Stein’s Money this past season. Not to wax your car too much but the whole time I was up there trying whip some conservative butt, all I could think on every utterance out of the lesser Kimmel clanmember’s mouth was “Why-oh-why can’t Wil be here?”
One of the contestant coordinators had told us you were in the front running, but that they had decided you looked too nice a person or some such thing. Based on what I saw, if you call everyone in sight a homosexual you should be a lock next time around.

He’s my fav director – ever since The Crow – I’ve been following his work – still got to see Garage Days. Looks very different to his usual genre.
Dark City was also my first DVD that I purchased (even before I got the DVD player)
And ask him if there’s ever going to be a proper Directors release of The Crow DVD – not like the disapointing release that Pressman and Most put out – we want Alex!!
