50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

a little PAX video: NES

Posted on 25 September, 2007 By Wil

I just came across some video of my PAX keynote:

This is me talking about the first time I played NES, with my brother, in a department store. It contains what is probably my favorite line of the entire keynote.

I watched a lot of video from PAX while I was supposed to be working on my GiR today (which actually makes sense, and fits this week’s column) and was viscerally reminded of how much fun I had there. If you can only attend one convention a year, make it PAX. Trust me.

Loved the short clip there of your keynote speech, it was funny and nostalgic at the same time.
Just out of curiosity, it is next week and was anxiously anticipating placing an order for a hard copy……….just wondering do you think that will be up soon? I will be on vacation next week in So. Cali and didn’t want to miss an opportunity to get one.

I haven’t seen you speak before. You’re very engaging. That last line was so funny. Actually, the whole thing had me at least smiling and usually lol-ing. By the way, I love the Nolan and D&D girl thing. My husband took me to a D&D gathering for the first time. I was the only girl and they were stunned that I enjoyed playing.

That was a great keynote, Wil. I enjoyed the audio that came out a few weeks ago, and I enjoyed it again watching this video snippet just now.

That was one of the best things I’ve seen!! You give a great speech! It brings back memories of my lil brother and I playing NES in the electronics section of Toy R Us, but with us it was always Super Mario all the way! Thanks for make me smile today ^_^

I could say that I am too lazy to embed the video and that would be correct. Head over there and watch it, though; its wonderful. I had a good laugh.
