50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

the best mashup of van halen and asteroids you’ll see today

  • Games

One of my colleagues at LA Weekly, who clearly doesn’t want me to get my column turned in on time today, sent me the best mashup of Van Halen and Asteroids that I’ve ever seen. Check it out, before some jerk with no sense of humor gets it sent to the land of wind and ghosts. Sammy Hagar, I’m looking in your direction. And will never buy your lousy records again. Again. Never again. Never again…

Haha…Van Halen and Asteroids….both amazing. Good luck getting your work done while having that game up.

You know what’s even more difficult?
Working on a column about enjoying quiet time by myself when all I really want to do is crank up 1984 and play air guitar.

Lol! Ya know…i dont blame ya one bit. Who wants quiet time when you can have air guitar. Btw…watched your rock band videos. Very ace man. Love that game.

Oh wow this is awesome. Unfortunately I have to have it on almost mute and keep pausing as to not arise suspicion on why I keep hitting the space bar so much :P. Damn work interrupting my fun time!! It’s isn’t like I have anything to do right now other than waiting for the phone to ring (stares at silent phone).

And of course the phone rings just as I hit submit…only a stupid person that we keep telling we are not interested. Oh well at least I am getting paid for this boredom.

Haha…ya, i’m a computer programmer, so its a bit easier to pull off hitting the spacebar so often, but certainly decreases the amount of code i produce.

How awesome is it that they have the claymation Hamburger from “Better Off Dead” in there, as well as a “Vacation” quote?

I’m not really a Van Halen fan, but it gives me great joy every time you give a nod to Nerf Herder or Dead Milkmen. You’d be amazed how few people in Milwaukee have ever heard of either.

I agree…air guitar is hard to resist. I am in an 80s kick today after hanging out with the lead singer of Asia for the first time last night.

Which one? Asia had more singers then Van Halen. (NOW the ‘post’ button works, damn noscript!)

Opps wasn’t thinking, John Payne. He was at my friend memorial and is a great guy. The friend that was organizing the memorial made sure to bring him over to a few of us since we had been friends with him longer than most people there. He give great hugs.

Actually, that is the second greatest mashup of Asteroids and Van Halen I’ve seen. I won’t bore you with details of the first.

I’m loving the Nerf Herder reference, too. That song was just on during the lunch request hour on my local radio station the other day. 😀
Now I’m going to send this to my hubby and destroy his productivity for the day, too. Woohoo!

Bookmarked for later. Thanks for the heads up. My suggestion, re your deadline: I’ve already heard the whoosh of mine flying by, so, play guitar, until inspiration hits…. Personally, I’m going for a walk….

I checked out the game so I can see how that would interfere with work. i have to constantly stop myself from watching movies rather than doing work

Poor Sammy Hagar. He’s Van Halen’s Wesley Crusher. 🙁

That was so fun! I started playing and the whole family ran into the office to watch. Thanks!

I am both disturbed…and entertained…excuse me. I have to go back to shooting asteroids to bits from David Lee Roth’s crotch.

Equal parts amusing and disturbing. I love it. Reminds me of the youtube vid Paul & Storm made for David Lee Roth’s vocals to Runnin’ Withthe Devil. It makes me happy.

This is indeed reminiscent of that Paul & Storm tribute. Thank you for reminding me of it. Sadly, I’d completely forgotten about it with the release of other P&S videos like the opening credits to Monkey Shines:

Yep, as soon as I saw the claymation burger, I heard Lane Meyer in my head saying, “I’ll show you what everybody wants!” I now have a full-on crush on whatver pop culture genius constructed this magnificent monstrosity.

RE: Nerf Herder — Thanks for taking it full circle, Wil! I first learned of NH from none other than your pre-exiled blog in about 2002. I’m now a huge fan (of both you and the band). Cheers. -steve
