50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

I spent way too much time on this.

  • random thoughts

I. Freaking. LOVE. Dad jokes, and every single Rick Grimes Dad Joke meme I’ve seen has made me laugh harder than I thought it would. So I thought about this dumb dad joke tonight, and decided that I’d make a Rick Grimes Dad Joke of my own.

I suck at Photoshop (or, in my case, GIMP), so the font isn’t as clear as I wanted it to be, but this still makes me laugh:

Rick Grimes Dad Joke

It’s good to be easily amused, kids.

Sorry. I spaced out a minute there. I’ll have another comment shortly.

Wil, a thought occurred as I read this. You and I are about the same age. One of the things that we didn’t really have when we were Tweens or teens were articulate, emotionally aware, male role models. We certainly didn’t have geek idols the way we do now.

Men such as yourself, the Green Brothers, the Science Guy, etc… You’re like a spirit guide who’s quietly kibbutzing to all of the uncertain nerdy guys as they stumble through time en route to finding themselves. Thanks. Keep it up.

ProTip: use a light color font and use a drop shadow. Or make your own by duplicating the text on another layer, make it black, and slightly offset it from the white text.

Haha, that is funny. I realized today how awesome a character that Rick is… One of my favorite movies ever is Love Actually and I’ve seen it more than a dozen times. I was blown away yesterday when some internet comment made me realize that one of the main characters in that movie is Andrew Lincoln. I had no idea. I’m a trivia nerd, so not realizing this on my own makes me kind of a dweeb. But wow, are those two characters as different as can be.

I made another one, using a joke I found on r/dadjokes.

This is a fabulous tutorial about how to do fonting on images.
