Chapter 3 of Titansgrave: The Ashes of Valkana is online, like, RIGHT NOW.

The Beer Baron and Keg-E bid farewell to the party after considerable celebration and revelry. In an attempt to learn more about their mysterious orb, the group heads to Nestora in search of Farkiah the Antiquarian. Excited for an opportunity to bargain, barter, and more importantly, shop, the heroes quickly head to the market district, but they soon find that it holds more than goods. What does the city-state have in store for our heroes? Tune in to find out.

This is a reminder, because we think this seminar will fill up quickly, and if you care about that sort of thing, I want you to be able to join us:
And if you do care about that sort of thing, you probably want to be reading Chris Pramas’s blogs about the game design. for Titansgrave.
This happened last night:
I was checking my network speed, because Netflix was trying to stop me from watching the end of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and nothing would stream off my media server in the house. I couldn’t figure out exactly what was wrong (I even tried turning it off and back on again), and the whole troubleshooting experience felt like trying to get the Babel Fish. But, eventually, things sorted themselves out and I got that insanely fast network speed, so I could finish the show.
In general, I liked it. The first few episodes were fantastic, and some of the middle ones were real stinkers, but I kept watching all the way to the end because Ellie Kemper is just so fantastic and such a joy. The show has a lot of problems that have been discussed to death elsewhere, so I’ll just leave it at that.
Finally, this is a show I’m doing for Playstation Network:
We’ll release new episodes, every Tuesday in the US and Canada, on PlayStation Store. You’ll get them for the low, low price of FREE on your PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. What’s that? You loaned your device to your cousin and she went out of town, locked it in her house, and didn’t give you the key? Don’t worry. If you don’t want to try out those lock-picking skills just yet, we’re also going to make our episodes available on PlayStation’s YouTube channel.
So, I hope you’ll join me and some really interesting people as we talk about games like Destiny, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Uncharted, The Last of Us, God of War and more. I’ve already taped a couple of episodes, and I’ve had some really fascinating conversations about the similarities and differences between videogames and movies, the origins of Destiny, and exactly how The Last Of Us scared the hell out of us all, while simultaneously making us care about Joel and Ellie more than we care for actual people we work with in our real lives. Yes, Mark, I’m looking at you. You are never going to get a spot in my zombie survival compound, Mark.
I’m actually on my way to the studio in about ten minutes to do interviews with the team that brought us Black Ops, and the Santa Monica Studio team, who brought us God of War and Journey, among others.
Let me tell you this: I am profoundly late to the party on Journey, but it’s maybe the most beautiful and emotional experience I’ve ever had playing a game. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.

I’m looking forward to the interviews. Very surprised and excited to see you working with game developers like this.
I’m shocked at how many negative comments are running rampant on the Youtube video for the Creator show. It’s so disappointing that people will spread so much hate without knowing why they’re doing so.
Anyway, just wanting to say “hey cool!” and to thank you for all the awesome things you’re doing. It’s insane how hard you’re working to juggle all these different shows, and I appreciate it.
The Last of Us changed my life, literally. It and playing Fiasco absolutely changed the way I write and sort of changed the way I look at the world. (Also, it introduced me to Troy Baker and his hotness. Damn you, Troy, you made me bawl like a two year old with that game.)
Already on YouTube? Awesome! How come?
We and our viewers were having so many problems with the other player, I asked G&S to make the change, so the audience could enjoy the show without any difficulties. It’s pretty great that Ryan at G&S and the whole digital team at Legendary supported me on this. Another network I once worked for wouldn’t ever have even considered it.
Isn’t it great when good things happen without having to fight your way to them? I love this kind of smooth transitions. Gonna watch it right now while eating lunch 😀
Cheers and thanks!
It really is a fantastic show Wil. Also Holy crap that map is pretty.
OK, Titansgrave is better than anything on TV at the moment. I never thought it would be so much fun watching a group of people play an RPG. It has just the right mix of plot/in character interaction and out of character banter and throwaway comments. Your players react brilliantly to your GMing and come up with excellent things of their own and they have a good grip on the personalities of their PCs now.
Why do we have to wait another week for the next episode?
Just wanted to say thank you so much for Titansgrave, made me want to improve not only how I play, but also just ideas for worlds as well. The series is incredible, and long may it continue!
And I’ll admit, Journey was one of the few games to make me cry.
LOVE the reference in Titansgrave to “Avatar: The Last Airbender” with the cabbage cart. It made me crack up so much I had to pause the video.
I’m very excited about the PSN show. Now I’ll have two cool things to watch from you on Tuesdays, at least for the month of July.
Here’s the awesome thing: you guys are inventing new forms of entertainment that chronicle, celebrate and encourage participation. How cool is it that you get to actually invent new programming models? And models that make people like me want to go out and be imaginative in my own rpg games? Because creativity only really requires love, not professionalism, and professional quality entertainment is totally doable with enough love. I know YouTube has other rpg gaming up, but the editing is what takes everything on Titansgrave up a level, so you have a story that’s fun, and has arcs, and doesn’t drag.
I propose a revision to the “don’t read the comments” rule. Read the positive comments, and the balanced comments. Ignore the full-on or mostly negatives. This kind of entertainment is a relationship with the audience, and in any relationship you earn the right to be critical. My rule in my marriage (actually Steven Covey’s rule) is 7 positives in the feedback bank to earn one critical comment. So if a commenter only gives you the negs without the 7 positives, they don’t care about you enough to protect the relationship, so nuts to them.
Keep up this great work of weaving the world together in shared giggling and saving of beer. And cider, cuz I like cider better. Mmmm, apples.
I’m a little sad we can’t go to GenCon. My son, whom I’ve been trying to talk into pen and paper RPGs is LOVING Titansgrave. Fuck the naysayers, you’re rockin’ this one!
Brilliant stuff, really enjoying this series! I do own Journey, and it has never come out of its case. I need to find the time to change that.
For me, this is the best session of TG so far because it’s feeling like the players are getting to know their characters better. TBH, I could take or eave the combat stuff. I know it kind of needs to be there but it’s meh. But this stuff, this is great. I totally want to try to steal the idea of having the players come up with things that they see.
Thanks Wil!
US and Canada only? Geez, I thought us guys in Australia had gotten over all this being ignored stuff now that we finally have Netflix.
Loving Titansgrave ( apologies for the spelling its the newcastle brown talking ) its making me want to get back into RPGs after a 20 year hiatus. I don’t really follow all the comments about tabletop on account of the internet being the home of the bizarre rant so not sure whats going on around the haters ( hey guys don’t like make your own show ) and the possible end of tabletop or no season 4 but hope Titansgrave continues. I put money into season 3 ( twice ) and would do it again
I am really enjoying the episodes of Titansgrave! I got out of RPG’s because people would take things too seriously and it lost the fun. Watching this world develop with the mix of technology and magic makes me want to join in right now. I know I plan to use “Wheaton” as my go to swear word when I roll bad from now on! Please keep up the great work.
If you’re digging Journey, you should try Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons as well. It is beyond awesome. It’s very different from Journey, but it’s awesome for many of the same reasons.
I just watched episode 3. I’m loving it so far. AGE and Titansgrave has just made my purchase list ofr Gen Con.
Really looking for to AGE and definitely Titansgrave too, but you’ve sold me on AGE.
and each week Titansgrave gets better… love it.
Shirts look good! We still need a Keg-E toy though.
Hi Wil-
I wanted to stop in and comment about how much I am LOVING Titansgrave. The story is stunning and you are a fantastic narrator and guide; it’s so much fun to see these characters develop, I’m really growing attached to them. I’ve never been a RPG-er, but this is making me want to find a group and start. Thanks so much for all the work you and everyone you work with put into this, it’s fantastic!
(I got that reference!) Just had to say that I actually remember my dad and uncle and all the people that they could find trying to get the babel fish over and over…and over. That comment (and Titansgrave in general) have made my day. Thank you and keep it up!
