Anne and I snuck away for the weekend. Last night, we watched a movie called Hell or High Water that we both really liked. All I knew going into it was that Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine were in a movie set in Texas about brothers who are robbing banks to save their family ranch, so I won’t say more about it than that. I recommend it, though: 4 out of 5.
We also went for a long walk in the woods, and managed not to get eaten by a bear.
Are we sure that Wil was not eaten by a bear who has now taken over his blog?
Maybe we all followed Wil to a reality where he wasn’t eaten by a bear. Back in that other universe the bear wins a pultizer for its ‘Wil’ blog. Damn, now I wish Wil would get eaten by a well read bear who we discover actually writes his blog.
I’m glad you weren’t eaten by a bear. Probably because both of you don’t have enough fat content. It’s kind of like with sharks. They would rather eat a seal than us because of the blubber content.
Also, the bears should be hibernating right about now.
The whole time we walked I was shouting “I only have 17% body fat and I’m sinewy!”
Hell AND High Water is more up my alley: the ever-dependable Richard Widmark in one of my favourite submarine films.
On a side note, the EFF’s Privacy Badger plugin blocked 25 trackers on this page. That’s… disappointing.
A friend of mine wanted to see Hell or High Water and I thought, “Well, why not? I like Chris Pine generally.” It seems like a long time since I went to a movie without lasers or superheroes. It surprised me how much I enjoyed it. A solid movie with good acting by good actors.
So glad neither of you were eaten. My kids have a second place in upper NE Washington, and they have to wear bear bells when they go out. They heard a bear on their last hike, but made a lot of noise and it shuffled the opposite direction. Stay safe, Wil!
So you watched a movie with Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine, then went to where there are bridges and pine trees. I think there was some subliminal suggestion going on.
That last image of the woods is beautiful and frame worthy.
I don’t share much with people I know about me being a fan/internet friend because I have come to know “wil the writer” and assume everyone is mostly familiar with “wil from Star Trek” … those are the same person but also, not the same person.
Anyway, that’s not the point….I shared the pic of when you were in town and I wanted to tell you 1. All the comments were nice, it was good to finally see that. So much hate in comments.
2. A dear friend of mine told me, “he looks so happy… I’ve seen so many photos of him where he looks so miserable”
I feel like I’m messing up the words. It’s supposed to be a point that you do look happy and was probably one of the few who noticed before when you weren’t. It was interesting to hear her say that.
Have a great time in Yo Sem Ite. #isayitthatway
