When we worked on Next Generation, Brent Spiner and I would sit at our consoles on the bridge, and make up lyrics to our show’s theme song. I vaguely recall coming up with some pretty funny and clever stuff, but nothing that held together as perfectly as this, from the weirdos over at meh.com:

Okay, so. I'm developing this Star Trek Lower Decks fan fiction I call The Wedding Crusher.
Write you fool: Congo Bongo
This is about Congo Bongo, except for the parts that aren't.

I haven't actually listened to a full album in a really, really long time. Like, other than Pink Floyd records, which must be listened to in their entirety, always (I will not be taking questions at this time), it just hasn't occurred to me to listen to, say, all of In Utero.

When I worked on Big Bang Theory, each episode involved a few days of rehearsal before we did camera blocking and the actual taping in front of the audience. Most […]
😁
Absolutely perfect.
I love this so much! <3
Now I want to see the whole series all over again, with that young Wesley Crusher. 😀 I have it on DVD but it takes a lot of time to watch from start to end…
And this alternate take would be the best…wurst? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clLqaaGJJZ8
Thanks for sharing. It was a much needed laugh in the afternoon.
Hahaha! Cute!
But did you BUY THE JUICER?
Ahaahahaha. No, I did not. It’s one of those spinning basket juicers, which creates so much heat from friction, it cauterizes whatever you’re juicing, and it kills a lot of the helpful enzymes and nutrients. I have a masticating juicer that makes amazing juice, without superheating the fruits and veggies I put into it.
Also, please accept this series of numbers as my obligatory Meh joke about using it to make margaritas: 655321.
Oh interesting, I’ve never explored different juicers. +1 for learning new things today! Thanks.
And Number accepted 😀. Especially because it would be a DeLarge Margarita!
Aaah, great! Everyone needs to memorize these lyrics and find an opp to sing together at Comic-Con this summer.
Great now it’s stuck in my head 😝
Funny! Although I’d pay good money to hear what you and Brent Spiner came up with!
Now I can never watch again without singing along. Thanks. 😀
That was good. Not great, not horrible, but good.
That is brilliant!
This is awesome on so many levels. I miss StarTrek TNG…wishing it was still on. You all were an amazing cast and I think many of the current shows lack the connection we witnessed on screen. Honestly, this could be a very catchy tune to have either on a coffee machine every morning, or on the refrigerator music player! Thank you for sharing this!
Indeed, TNG is still my favourite of all times as well. Somehow this show was inspired. And the fact that the actors and characters knew to laugh about themselves every now and then was at the core of its humanity.
Ha-ha, “make it so!” The cadence is unbeatable.
But then (The) Adam and Joe (Show) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3HL8XVMih8 did this.
So good. Thank you for sharing!
I love it! Thanks for sharing!
Now hand it off to Leo Moracchioli so he can metalify it into some truly next level shiz.
OMG I love this!
This photo is obviously from the mirror universe
LOL!
Meanwhile, I’m hoping they will make a TNG version of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCARADb9asE
Thanks for sharing – I’m just glad I decided to wait and watch it in the evening and NOT have a quick peek during my seminar 🙂
Back in the day, we used to sing the Love Boat Theme lyrics to the TNG music.
It worked particularly well, especially if sung in a smarmy lounge lizard style.
OMG, this really is awesome!
Very funny! The BBC channel I get here (Redmond WA) continually shows Star Trek in the morning–almost every day—right now they’re going through Voyager, then they’ll go to another series—I’ve watched all of TNG that way. They rotate through the original series too….It’s a great way to watch all the shows when I’m working on crafts at home.
Thanks for sharing this!
I like all of your posts, but every once in a while I am especially compelled to say, in a totally appropriate and unskeevy way…
I love you.
That absolutely was brilliant. Please post the lyrics you and Brent came up with, please.
On somewhat distantly related topic. Have a look at this episode of podcast about Ancient Egypt (yep) : https://egyptianhistorypodcast.com/2018/03/19/episode-94-the-pools-of-horus/ , download mp3 and listen from 5:00 for about a minute (of course you can listen it it all, it is a good, self-contained episode) and enjoy unlikely reference 🙂
Wil…you’re a true inspiration. Reading and watching your openness and sense of self makes us smile. Please keep being yourself and the awesome dad you are.
Hang in there Stephanie! 🙂 that’s ridiculous about 2 tylenol! So glad this mutually entertaining post made both our days better.
Oh to have been a nanite on the consoles. Love!
Made me smile! Time to do a TNG re-watch!
