2. Yes. I agree. I am so ashamed and embarrassed to call myself an American citizen. President Zelensky handled the situation with a far better level of grace and decorum than I would have (but then again I am American and thus prone to rude, uncivilized statements and actions). I hope President Z and his fellow Ukrainians fully understand that not all Americans are as unfeeling and rude as the behavior of these so called leaders (by the slimmest margins in American history) have displayed.

21. It is very conflicting for us in other countries to see this play out. I think a lot of us feel America is acting atrociously, and to boycott – but then we also recognise there are good decent people in the country also being affected by these things. I have written to my MP to reinforce support for Ukraine (as they are meant to be working in our behalf) and to urge some consequences for your leader – I’m not hopeful on the second count but at least it’s trying to do something, it’s just unfortunate that the good Americans (of which this post and comments thankfully show they’re are many of you, thank you!) are being treated with the same brush. I’m so sorry.

In the UK we are horrified by this regime but not by the millions of decent citizens who voted against it. And being business owner and the… intuitiveness that only a former sober sex worker could possess (you learn a lot about people lying next to them in bed) We are in some rough shape moving forward as well. Both sides need to get act together, and get these problems fixed, or the country going to keep throwing folks like Trump in Office and Biden and Harris who as much meant well, seemingly did everything to piss off Trump supporters, who of course but him back in office. 39. I agree with you completely, Mr. Wheaton. And I agree with many of the commenters here. That said, while it’s easy to write comments on a blog, there are other things we can do. Do what so many people didn’t do in November. VOTE! It’s easy to make excuses, and it’s easy to say, “Well what about…” Resist the urge to do that. No, there will never ever be a perfect candidate that reflects all your points of view. That will never happen, so give up that pipe dream now. Find a candidate that stands against fascism, against racism, against hate, and you probably won’t go wrong. Use your vote intelligently, research your candidates, all the way down to the local level.

    I served this country in the Navy, and I worked hard to acquire my citizenship just so I could vote. My first national vote was for VP Harris. Sadly, there were too few of us voting. I don’t know if we got complacent, or if the fascists organized better than we did (sadly, that is one place where they excel). I know that the Orange Shitgibbon won with a lower popular vote than the first time. So that tells me that a lot of us held our silence. Please don’t do that again. Vote in the midterms, vote your local elections, and vote again in 2028. For our future.
